authentic cuban!. my husband is originally from miami and loves cuban food. we were in ft worth for the weekend and had to eat cuban. we were so happy to find this place. the decor is great and thefoodis even better. the tostones are to die for and the homemade mojo was phenomenal. my husband had the vaca frita and his only complaint was that he didn't get to eat more of it! the desserts were delicious too. i had the guava turnover and it was delightful. i highly recommend eating at least one meal here.

every city that my family and i visit, we make sure to try local cubanfoodrestaurants and after evaluating over a dozen (including some in miami, florida) i can declare that this (along with “el meson” in houston, texas) is the finest i have appraised. the restaurant itself does not look attractive on the outside and the neighborhood is not the greatest, but once you step inside the eatery, the atmosphere is reminiscent of the glamour of pre-revolution havana. the menu is extensive and thefoodis exquisite.                the aspect that impressed me the most was the restaurant’s authenticity; for instance, it was astonishing to listen to genuine son, mambo, and cha cha cha tunes interpreted by vocalist that were famous during the pre-revolutionary era. this last feature was truly unique as most cuban restaurants in the united states are melodically disappointing, playing mexican, puerto rican, or fast passed contemporary timba music. the service was not the best, but it was appropriate for an economical establishment of this sort. on the whole it was an exceptionally gratifying dining experience and i will categorically recommend caribbean café to all of my cuban friends and family. 32.975642 -96.889964 about these ads southwest carrollton, carrollton, tx, usa compártelo: twitter facebook google like this: like

i liked this restaurant a lot. it doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's cozy and welcoming on the inside. the prices are reasonable - entrees run from $12 - $15 (my entree was enough for two meals) and sandwiches run around $8. our waitress was friendly and attentive, and they had a great selection offoodand drinks. finding these great, authentic, off-the-beaten-path restaurants is one of my favorite parts of moff.

this amazing restaurant fills a culinary void in the dfw area. you can find a taco stand every 10 feet, but caribbeanfoodis sorely underrepresented.

was looking for a caribbean cuisine place in central n dallas area, and caribbean cafe popped up. the us reviews spoke highly of the food, and caribbean cafe did not disappoint.

we started w/ the ceviche de camarones, which included carrots and yucca along w/ traditional avocado, red onion. delightful. i had the house salad, arroz moro (black beans w/ rice and spices--very flavorful), and the yucca con moro (yes, yucca in another style besides frita. this is a rarity among latino restaurants, very good.) dinner compadre had bistec encebollado, red beans, and plantains tostones, which they said was all authentic and tasty.

service was okay. neither stellar nor horrible. waitress was genuinely friendly and good overall, just a little intermittent at times (leading to empty drink glasses).

if you are an enjoyer of texmex, and would like to see what authentic latin cuisine is and how it wonderfully differs from texmex, stop by this unobtrusive place and find out. you'll see howfoodcan have great flavor and depth--via spices and preparation, as opposed to sauces and cheeses.

thefoodwas excellent!! we love yucca con mojo and many cuban restaurants only serve yucca frita. these guys serve both. service wasn't stellar, as they were really busy. some really obnoxious and insanely loud family had taken over the place & they required a great deal of attention! thefoodmade the lacking service and migraine totally worth it!!

it is soooo difficult to find authentic cubanfoodin dallas- but this place really dishes out some great-tasting foods! i especially love the vaca frita. i can eat thisfoodin my family's kitchens so i think it's a little pricey, but it's worth it.

best cubanfoodin town!!. a friend of mine took me to caribbean cafe on belt line & web chapel to try a new (to me) cuban restaurant. i didn't really know what to expect because i didn't know there was even a restaurant around there on belt line and web chapel--in fact there were a few more around there... a mexican and a thai restaurant right around the corner.

anyway, my friend order this thin steak dish (forgot the name) with eggs for me. it was sooo good... much better than other cuban restaurants i had gone to in dallas. the planteen (spelling??) was very good too. the restaurant was a little small but very cozy... a very nice place to go with a few close friends or two and hang out.

anyway, i really like this place and would definitely go back. thefoodwas very tasty, the atmosphere was warm and cozy, the price was reasonable. highly recommended!

food worth one star. i have nothing nice or good to say about this place other than i wish people would appreciate the real taste of latinfoodand in this case, cuban food. i'm very disappointed by the quality for such high prices and poor customer service.

just like mom's!. who would have thought that we could find cubanfood*this* good outside of miami or new york? i'm a cuban american who's been eating my mother's (and grandmother's, aunts' and cousins') cubanfoodall my life. caribbean cafe's food, well, it tastes just like my mother's -- it's that good! don't just take *my* word for it -- i picked up my mother the other day from the airport and brought her to caribbean cafe. her assessment? perfecto!
