three of us decided to visit this wee place off the busy henderson pass/thousand oaks intersection after church. we had heard good things about it and found it with no problem. it's an old storefront, very clean inside with about 20 tables and waitstaff bustling everywhere. the sign said "please seat yourself" so we found one unoccupied table and sat down. a minute or so passed and we were given menus and gave the smiling lady our drink orders.

for a tiny place the menu is extensive with breakfast items, tacos, combo plates, nachos, menudo, barbacoa and other favorites. we ordered a ham andcheeseomelette, migas with chorizo and a mexican omelette with pico de gallo and cheese. all plates for breakfast are served with refried beans, fried potatoes and piping hot homemade tortillas.

the food is simple, seasoned well and served fresh with generous portions. the migas were terrific with crispy tortilla chips, eggs, cheeseand a nice spicy chorizo. the omelettes were both huge and very filling, filled with lots of ham and cheese; the refried beans creamy and the potatoes ordinary but okay. flour tortillas were puffy and delicious.

service is friendly and bilingual; prices are reasonable and the casual atmosphere reminds us of many such cafes in mexico run by local families. total for three breakfast plates, three coffees and one soda was $29.54 before tip. que rico!
