caffiend was one of the most recommended cafes for brunch in cairns, so we had to try it out. located in the cbd, caffiendis easy to get to and there’s plenty of street parking. the place is simple with minimalistic décor and has plenty of seating inside and out. prices are on the higher end but food is very good. would recommend their miso scramble!

a bustling little cairns eatery with exceptional coffee. must try if you consider yourself a caffeine lover. we started off with a coconut caramel latte which was nutty and sweet. for lunch we had the blt (swapped bacon for avocado) and the parmesan truffle wedges. this was very filling and the brioche bun was so yum. the rebeun sandwich was definitely a stand out. such a classic and done very well atcaffiendwith the side of sweet potato chips. the café is decorated with artworks from a local artist, caroline mudge, whom i adore. down a few metres from the cafe is a graffiti laneway where the oldcaffiendused to be.

was initially going to find a cafe with a view, but decided on going tocaffiendinstead & was so glad i did! tucked away down a bricked, narrow lane way it is its own space. quirky decor and graffiti on the walls give it an urban appeal. on sitting down at a table outside i was quickly greeted by the waitress who took my coffee order before exploring the menu. i decided on one of the specials which was a poached egg & bacon (open) burger on brioche bread & served with slaw & tomato. it was great! also the coffee was one of the best coffee's i have ever had! a full flavour but not too overpowering and a unique edge to it!
highly recommended. amazing food, great atmosphere & great service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

i went for lunch with a friend tocaffiendafter hearing great things and reading great reviews. its such a unique location down graff alley, it is definitely a 'cool' place - not a typical cairns cafe. the decor has great vibes and loved the cute touches wich as bubbles on the outside tables. we found the lunch menu a wee bit limited and the staff werent very accommodating to changes. we ordered the fresh juices, beef tacos, pumpkin and feta on sourdough and chunky fries to share. the juice was super flavourful but a wee bit expensive considering the glasses were very small. the tacos were so average, huge disappointment since they are one of my go to choices. the beef was so bland and had way too much on the taco. the fresh tortilla was nice but fresh tomato would have been better as it went soggy quickly. the feta and pumpkin dish was ok, but again lacked flavour. the fries were the best part as they were properly seasoned.
i am willing to trycaffiendagain, perhaps breakfast is a better option.

what a gem.

you simply do not find this sort of cafe outside if sydney or melbourne. to find a laneway cafe of this caliber in cairns is amazing.

if you love coffee and good food, caffiendis a must.

not bad, not amazing. went here for breakfast after reading reviews on urbanspoon. small menu, which on balance is generally a good thing i think. we both ordered the mushrooms. i had a poached egg with it. i thought they were good, not amazing but good. partner thought they were not very good. my coffee was mediocre, hers was good. go figure. on an absolutely serious and important note though -caffiendstaff - you need to stop drizzling balsamic reduction around the edge of the plate. it's over. put the bottle away and never pick it up - this isn't my kitchen rules. overall i'm going to givecaffienda pass. it's trying it's best to be something a bit different for cairns and god bless them for that. worth it just to sneak down the little graffiti clad alley and escape the tourist hoards.

best breakfast in cairns!. my boyfriend and i spent 10 days vacationing in cairns and tried many different restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner.caffiendwas hands down our favourite spot to eat! the food was delicious, the coffee was great and the staff were always very friendly! we also loved the location, tucked off the main street through a graffiti covered alley way. the cafe itself was very cute, loved the photographs on the wall and style of the whole place. i think we came tocaffiend5 of those 10 days for breakfast, nothing else was as good! even though it was a 15 minute walk from our hotel in the blistering heat in the dead of a cairns summer, the walk was definitely worth it!!! if you are in cairns you must check out this place! the pancakes with orange ice cream was my favourite.

outstanding.caffiendeasily could hold its own with the best of brisbane or melbourne - great coffee, interesting (and well executed) menu and terrific ambience, down an alley way in the cbd. i was really impressed by my mushrooms, not just your bog standard type of thing and the coffee had a really robust flavour to it also. i hope to come back here before i leave cairns. it is really worth tracking down if you're up here.

innovative food, amazing coffee.caffiendis definitely my 'local' coffee shop. everyone has their favourite place, and i know here i can try something new that the kitchen has concocted, and it'll be a combination i would never have thought of and really yummy. an example is the awesome chicken pikelets in my pic. chicken pikelets?! i kid you not, they were divine.

the coffee is always great. it's dark, strong with a great acid/sweet/bitter balance and perfectly short. so few cafes get a doppio ristretto perfect. at caffiend, it's always great.

if you're looking for a laid back, cruisy kind of cafe with a funky atmosphere, try caffiend, this is your haven. you'll find me there too, probably chugging away on a ristretto while simultaneously reading the paper on my ipad and making orgasm sounds at some delicious new dish.

melbourne style in cairns. jumped of my very early flight from melbourne and researched straight away where i was going to head in downtown cairns for my much needed caffeine fix. so after all the great reviews pointed me in the direction ofcaffiendi went directly here after checking-in to my hotel. i'm a melbourne foodie and incredibly spoilt for choice for coffee so my standards are very high.
staff were really friendly, and although i didn't eat here the menu and food looked as though it would be right at home in melbourne. my coffee was above average, although not quite up to my melbourne standards. all in all though this is a little gem for cairns.
