wabbit. when i dine out, i like to explore the menu and taste new and exciting flavors and innovations. not here. "gimme that rabbit with the mushroom gravy. extra gravy. not the new gravy, the one from the old menu."lol. in all seriousness our usual table of 4 all get the same rabbit dish as we explore with our appetizers and amuse. they have a thoughtful selection of wine that completes theexperienceand we have always had a wonderful time there.

the new juanita is much prettier and shinier, but it will still remind you of the old one you used to love. 

we kept it simple.  i had the risotto with octopus and then the rabbit.   the risotto was well done, black, with small nibbles of octopus that weren't chewy.   the smaller portion was entree sized, and quite a deal.   the rabbit...i love the sauce but i was missing some tooth to the dish.   my friends had the scallops, which were wonderful.   really outstanding and i had a bit of food envy.

i finished with a simple panna cotta, which i adored and was one of the hits of the night. 

staff was super professional and very friendly.   greatexperienceagain.

a nice dining destination, but expected more. went out expecting a special dinner experience, and in many ways cafe juanita delivered - cozy yet sophisticated ambience and decor, friendly yet professional staff. the food, however, was hit or miss, from tough and totally unspired overpriced kale salad to fine but unmemorable fish to one of the best fois gras i had ever had. i may be more forgiving of the culinaryexperiencehad it not for the expectations i had for this twice-james beard award-nominated-chef. i would expect every dish to at least impress, if not blow me away! would not mind returning for another try, but probably will not be in a hurry to return.

this place is simple average for all of the hype that it has for being an expensive italian restaurant. i ordered the braised rabbit which was nothing to cheer about. the wine which it was braised it was completely overpowering over the vegetables and rabbit, which left me feeling hungary for dessert. what saved me from hating this restaurant was the ricotta gelatto. it was magnificent. i ate mine and half of my husband. i also enjoyed their selection of wine. over all, i would have to give myexperiencea 7.

fantastic. i will be the first to admit that i think that most of the restaurants in seattle aren't very good. over-priced and not very good. cafe juanita is not one of these places. the food is excellent. the wine is excellent. the service is excellent. the only bad thing is the desserts, but all the other food is so good, i'll give them a pass. besides. i'm so full by the time i get to dessert, i have shouldn't order it anyway. it's always a pleasure to eat here. i come away from theexperiencerelaxed and inspired to cook more gourmet meals. also, to recreate some of the dishs that i just had. that's what a good meal should do to you. inspire.
to sum it up, when people ask me of a place to go, one of the few places that i can full heartedly recommend is cafe juanita.

don't let the look fool you. this isn't place for your typical dining. holly has theexperienceto use the fresh seasonal ingredients and compose various dishes. sometimes it may not agree to your expectations. but the food is always excellent. as to the cost of dining? if you need to ask, just go to denny's as you won't appreciate the skill that goes into each plate served.

a must!. my first diningexperiencein the seattle area leaves me hungry for more. every dish served to our table was excellent. i recommend the lamb. thank you holly : )
