we tried to eat at jason's across the road, but it was busy. so instead we went to frank's.
this was a cool little joint, nice and laid back, where tables get shared, scented water is on the shelf and a lot of their offerings are displayed proudly on the counter.
i had the quarter roast chicken, with potato and coleslaw. the chicken was a bit dry since it is pre-roasted and then obviously heated up in some way. my friends ordered the chicken and leek pies, and these seemed to be winner meals.
my only semi gripe is how you have to order at the counter. this applies mainly to the coffees and drinks, and not so much to thefood(since you've probably gone to eye what's on offer). but in busier times, in the back of my mind there's always that "risk" that you get up to order and someone has snaked your table or something.
