i grew up with cafe adriatico. cafe adriatico was aspirational chic when i was a college student and as a young adult a hangout place for good food, wine and conversation with friends. it was and still is the place to go for good food with friends or simply for reading a book.

lola isings adobo rice is s favorite and the knockout knuckles is another one. yum.

established in 1979; most people born before this year would probably disagree that it's an old restaurant. but yes, they're the oldest in the area and i can safely say - the best cafe in manila.

some maybe confused with their unconventional format of a cafe. but they have been effective through the years as they continue to adapt, respond, maintain, and improve. good service keeps their costumers feel welcome each visit. and quality dishes keep their loyalists come back. reminds me so much of our ancestral home.

they have pretty much everything you need and may crave for. breakfast, brunch, lunch, snacks, dinner, everything... in filipino, spanish, and american fashion. decent pasta and sandwiches; good steaks and european dishes; and great desserts, cakes and chocolatè.

simple keys to their existence and patronage inspite of the new highly funded and well marketed restaurants around them. a icon of our local heritage that is defenitely here to stay.

this is one of the oldest and coziest restaurants in the heart of malate.

for breakfast, i am having their pancakes with bacon. something light and fluffy with crispy on the side.

during lunch or dinner family gatherings, we usually order their best filipino dishes. beef salpicao, crispy pata, kare-kare and the like... 😍 for dessert, we grab their canonigo and the suman. 😍

definitely, satisfying. ❤️

a cafe in a corner of a street. this place is open 24 hours with great options for cakes. i only tried the chocolate cake and it was big and very yummy, though a bit expensive. a great place to start or end the morning/afternoon walk down the roxas boulevard.

been to their gateway branch but the feel of adriatico's malate branch is different. i ordered the chicken ala kiev as per the suggestion of my favorite blog (chuvaness) and dear it was so gooood!! the butter oozing from the chicken when u cut it, yummy!! dont forget to squeeze the lemon on the chicken coz it will really bring out the flavor. i hope i ordered rice instead of the usual mashed potato as im pretty sure i'll enjoy it better. i also ordered suman sa lihiya and chokolate eh for dessert. will definitely go back here.

this is one place in remedios circle that i want to go on weekends  just to hang out with my friend.  we never miss to order our favorite pica-pica - gambas al ajillo, crunchy calamari and mushrooms in garlic . they are all good! goes well with our ice cold beers.

cafe adriatico is one of the oldest restaurants in adriatico circle. it serves spanish and continental food. i love their spanish callos ,mushroom and mozarella melt and spanish omelette. food is reasonably priced . you will love the ambience and waiters are accomodating and fast. you just have to be early though to get a good parking.

food - 4.0
service - 4.5
ambience - 4.0

love how their menu has various food to choose from. my favorite from what we ordered was the chicken ala kiev. it's very juicy and tender in contrast with its crisp exterior. the squid tactics is also memorable with its poignant sweet and chili sauce. sunrise tequila was perfect when you're looking for a very light booze. it tasted like summer. however, the long island iced tea was a backstabbing bitch with its gin very much kicking you in the head (i'm not a drinker obviously). toffee sansrival was a 5. my sweet tooth gave up on how sweet it is. finally, i was kinda disappointed with their kesong puti. it was like tasting a frozen milk. i couldn't taste any cheesiness from it.

we went here monday night, 11pm-ish. we easily got a seat in the middle but transferred beside the windows for a much better lighting (lol, for pictures of course!) the place was smaller than what i expected and they have an open kitchen.

my dad ordered us tenderloin steak cafe adriatico style. it may come with rice or mashed potato and mixed veggies. he had it well done. the meat was still easy to chew and the sauce that comes with it is similar to butter.

while my brother ordered tenderloin tips sauté. its placed in an oblong shaped plate so the serving was big. my brother loves this so much, especially the sauce. so i highly recommend this for kids ?

i ordered polpetta spaghetti. this comes with 4 regular sized meatballs that compliments very well with the pasta. the pasta alone is bland but i do believe this was purposely done so that the overall flavor is not overpowering. the meatballs are very tasty, just by slicing it half you'll get a very flavorful smell. meatlovers should definitely try this!

lastly we had chocolate decadence for dessert. and yes this is one of their best sellers. chocolate is not very sweet, even the coating on it. very chocolatey! highly addictive! yum!

overall the dishes was worth the price. when done, our plates are almost clean lol! (except for my brother who didnt eat the veggies on his plate!) we'll definitely be coming back again to try their other dishes. till then,

cheers!

cafe adriatico in malate is almost like a tourist spot in manila. many foreigners would dine there because of the classic filipino food that they can try. a crowd favorite is the lengua estofado. some of the foods recommended are the beef salpicao, gambas, pan fried salmon, adriatico steak. mango jubillee and the chocolate decadence cake is highly recommended for dessert. service is also good however they have a very limited non smoking section.
