a miniscule yet comfortable piece of vietnam in the suburbs of marikina.
i adore places like these that don't subscribe to exaggerated gimmicks, but provide a place of hearty welcome and homey comfort. kind of like 'hygge' if you will. the ambiance is simple and tranquil, and i like the touch of vietnamese contemporary pop being played.
the banh mi is the tastiest i have had from all the banh mi's i have eaten (in the philippines). the roll has the right crisp but not soaked in oil or sauce. the fried springrollswere a little burnt in some parts, but that doesn't really affect the taste. the pho (regular with meatballs only) was great. the ingredients were fresh, making the soup light, perfect even for a hot day (a very southeast asian cuisine quality).
i think the price is right for both the pho and banh mi since this is the cheapest vietnamese dishes i have known so far (in terms of quality and taste). the spring rolls, for three pieces, was a little too expensive.
all in all i would order again (especially since they have grab food service).
