burgers and brew

went to burgers and brew with a co-worker. she had a burger and i had fish and chips. it was reallygoodjust had more seasoning on it then i've usually noticed with fish and chips. they're milkshakes are amazing and if you don't finish it you can get it to go! one word of caution though, if you decide to sit outside check your seat first for rust. the first chair i sat down in the leg snapped and the second the bottom of the seat broke.goodfood, just check your chairs!

had the spicy guac burger and it was okay. definitely not spicy. guac was standard guac and the burger didn't have a lot of flavor. the beer selection isgoodand was a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine

burgers and brew is both the name and exactly what they do. burgers are amazing - fresh, not overcooked, with a little sear on the outside; buns are soft but substantial; toppings are all crisp and fresh. the options are not exotic or trendy but they hit the mark. no foie gras burger here. fries aregoodas well, but nothing super special. beer selection is off the chart. the place is crowded, wood and brick a little worn at the edges in a pleasant neighborhood-pub kind of way.

horrible service withgoodfood and beer.. i heardgoodthings about this place so gave it 2 shots. both times the food was good, and the beer selection great, but the waitstaff's attitude ruined the experience. this is a bummer because i like having a beer in an old converted brick building.

the first time i took my family of 4 there and was sat a 2 person table with 4 chairs. when i asked to move to an empty table (in the empty restaurant) they told me no and that is was reserved for larger groups. so we crammed and bumped knees while the larger tables sat empty our entire meal.

the second time i took my wife and she ordered a glass of wine. it was a bad bottle ( probably overheated) so she asked for another one. then the manager came out and explained to my wife that it was agoodbottle, and she doesn't drink wine personally, but people that *know* tested it. wtf?? are you guys trying to make it so i can't eat at your place - work with me here.

the staff acts like they are toogoodfor the job - they got the big stuff right (food, atmosphere) - now just fire the manager and make it a pleasant place to be.

nice ambience. great staff. price is right.goodbeer. lots to chose from. great burgers. must go!

i'll be baaaaack. very reasonable food with quality burgers, fish/chips and beer choices. waiter even made somegoodsuggestions on trying different beers rather than your home-refrigerator fare. space is very limited, and it comes with the usual angst of downtown parking so expect a short hike from your car. so worth it.

great meat. had the hamburger and it was delicious. my husband had the fish and chips and my 2 year old loved the fish. curley fries are just asgoodas the regular fries. a must try for the burger lover. saw the double 1 pd burger go by and it was huge!! a meat lovers dream.

great for lunch!. really great onion rings and turkey burgers. not overly greasy, and a great selection of "spiked" waters.
