burger shack

the onion rings are like no other: they have this thick, fluffy batter and crispy exterior that i love. dip 'em in the gravy for a truly exceptional experience. this is my favourite thing about burger shack.

you can split a burger easily (if you can restrain yourself) and are a cut above the chains. nothing crazy, nice and simple.

get a shake and fries for a classic combo. the fries are alsogreatwith a classic vinegar and salt combo if you're more traditional.

the souvlaki is delicious and has agreatgrilled, marinated flavour. dip it in their accompanying creamy sauce (like a tzatziki but no cucumber?) for extra decadence. if you get it with the salad with the souvlaki, it's best to have the dressing on the side or it can get goopy.

atmosphere is down-to-earth old-school. plenty of seating, easy to take out. don't forget cash, unless you're okay using the available atm.

nothing special about the burgers. had better at fast food joints and even restaurants not specializing in burgers. their patties (6oz) are the thinner style. standard toppings. i had bacon and cheese with mine. no homegrown creations like the "the priest".

also had a poutine that was not thatgreatbecause the cheese curds didn't melt - either the gravy or fries were not hot enough to do the job, or the curds were too cold to begin with.

with so many burger places in toronto to try for the best tasting juicy burger, why would i come back here? no reason. and no reason to recommend.

bad customer service. first time, got a referral from one of the owners. so i stopped by to try out their burgers,greatburger! terrible customer service. there were two girls, swearing and complaining about their side duties. and while i waited to place my order, one of the girls in a rude manner said what do you want? too bad, wont go back. but good burger overall.

nothing special. i live close by and have been waiting for months for this place to open so i was excited to try it especially after reading several positive reviews that compared the burgers to in & out. overall the food was just ok. it took way too long to get our order. we went during a fairly busy time (saturday lunch) but still waited almost 30 mins for our order. i understand its a busier time but for a place that only makes burgers and fries and has no other menu items 30 minutes is crazy. plus the fact that they have signs posted around the restaurant saying "we cook everything to order so please be patient" obviously shows they have no concern with getting orders out quickly.

as far as the prices go i thought they were fair for what you get. the burgers are definitely on the smaller thinner side so if you are really hungry plan on a double or triple. the burger could of used some more seasoning and i had a hard time tasting any of their "shack sauce" that they claim to be wold famous.

i've had in & out burger numerous times and while you could clearly see the similarities in looks taste wise burger shack was nowhere close. additionally the fries were soggy and flavorless. they were definitely frozen and could use some seasoning. overall everything just seemed to be a little on the bland side for my taste preference. my advice would be that if your looking for agreatburger five guys is still the best value for the price range.

this place was spectacular. the food is nothing but divine. they have agreatselection of burgers and each of them are something special. i had the pleasure of staying near the restaurant (they also do take-out) for nearly 4 weeks. despite the large number of alternative eateries in the area, i ate here a dozen times!

an area tradition. burger shack has been a favorite place to eat of mine since i was about 13 years old. i'm now 24 and my attitude has not changed! the burgers are alwaysgreatand the onion rings are fantastic! if you are feeling super fatty finish it off with one of their milk shakes, you won' regret it :). sure there are other burger places where you can buy a gourmet burger that many would say is better: but who the hell decided white truffles and foie gras were burger fare in the first place? burger shack makes burgers the way they are meant to be: simple, tasty, and affordable, to hell with burger snobs!

went here after seeing thegreatrating. didn't dissapointed at all. homemade burgers are agreatsize, super juicy,greatflavor. the buns are nice and it's an all around treat. the fries were amazing as well, especially compared to fast food joints. my girlfriend had the onion rings which were also awesome. better than apache by far in my opinion. must try

i'm a burger fiend and this place was agreateat! one thing though, the fries are no good. just buy a burger and pop.

this is the best gosh darn burger i've ever had. i also would reccomend a chicken souvlaki on a pita!! this restaurant is sheer quality, not to mention theirgreatb.shack hats and shirts! so goooood!!!!!
