great place. wonderful setting --- overlooking docked sailboats and mountains. the seafood itself was fresh i've had in a restaurant in california. can't complain about the service.

me!. nestled among fishing boats and tackle shops, this bustling seafood joint has long been a local favorite.... just reading about it makes me hungry !

quick lunch. i didn't have as much time to enjoy myself as i had hoped so i went in and just got a clam chowder and split the calamari with a friend. best clam chowder! i am very particular and don't like many of them but i love brophy's chowder. be sure you don't get caught up on the bread they use to distract you when they're busy, the calamari was tasty when it came but a little too doughy. worth it for the clam chowder though...when can i go back?!

don't bother. food doesn't taste fresh, very bland, no flavor. you are right on the water, one would expect fresh seafood. service was poor as well.

when trying to decide where to eat in a new city, we ask around a lot.  sometimes we get a lot of different suggestions and sometimes we get one restaurant recommended over and over.  such was the case with brophy brother’s restaurant and clam bar in santa barbara.  we were told that we had to go there and we had to get the clam chowder.  being good tourists, we did what we were told and it was perfect!!

i have always heard how great this restaurant is. i have been unimpressed with the service and the quality of food is underwhelming. i live in sb and won't go back.

a deep, worcestershire flavor provides a full-bodied base to the intensely spicy finish. but while the heat is no joke, the drink as whole remains incredibly balanced among each classic ingredient. acidity plays with the savory notes, and each sip coats the mouth with the perfect consistency. a thick, celery-salted rim provides a fragrant saltiness, and a standard garnish of olives, celery and lemon top off this savory cocktail.

from la, better than we have!. this place is gold! if you are not from the west coast vibe then you might be disappointed. this is uber-popular, fast-paced, high-quality local seafood! lots of noise, super great service, move and get outta' the way attitude. if you want a nice leisurely meal go elsewhere. this is rock n roll seafood! and.. it was awesome!

had steamed clams, clam chowder, and the best cioppino ever made! i also got two free glasses of wine for my wait! (the manager had a beard and made the place really run well).

maybe one of my favorite places of all time!

lived up to the hype!. we went there during the high traffic holiday season. while we waited for 40 minutes at the bar they were very nice and in fact gave us two free glasses of wine for our small wait (the handsome bearded guy my wife loved......yes he was a great host). but that is not the subject. i went with their legendary clam chowder followed by the fresh steamed clams! my wife had the also legendary italian seafood stew cioppino, which was out of this world. we were so impressed. we have had the "best" in many city's many times in our lifetimes, many equal this experience but none have exceeded it. 20 stars out of 10.

beer, food, view, its got it all!. i had lunch with a coworker here and we had a hard time leaving! the food was excellent, the view was beautiful, and the beer was cold!

we never miss it when in santa barbara - always great (and crowded/energetic). worth a wait!

quick and efficient service. we were happy with our meals as they were wel portioned and reasonably priced for th standard... typical pub food but also some great specials available... brophy bros is a great place to go for a low key, quick and easy bite.
