broken plate

do not bother booking a reservation at this restaurant.  this was the secondtimewe booked a reservation and they didn't have a table.  the food brought us back for a birthday, but once again we waited 20 minutes and finally left and had to go to a different restaurant as we had event tickets after dinner.  food is good, location is small and tables are almost on top of each other.  you will be waiting the same length oftimewhether you reserve or not.

my dining experience at the broken plate was awful.  i ordered the greek ribs, they tasted as if they had been freezer burned badly in the past and lacked flavour.  my date ordered the salmon exohiko the food came out in goodtimebut her side of rice was badly undercooked to the point where it was crunchy.  when a complaint was lodged the wait staff did nothing to accommodate our concern, management and the cook then proceeded to watch us finish our meal from a distant table where we heard them mention the complaint.  when the bill came i saw that it was full price despite the fact that the rice was not cooked.. when i politely mentioned this to our waitress she went to speak with the manger. management then did credit our bill with one beer with the logic that "the rice only costed $3". when asked if this was aright i said it wasn't.. (keep in mind this was over a $100 bill). she then snapped and said she wasn't the manager and that there was nothing she could do. when my date mentioned that she was being sassy she said "actually i think you're being the sassy one". we were both absolutely shocked, we were very polite up to this point and had never received such poor service in our lives. i would highly recommend avoiding the broken plate due to the poor dining experience, lack of customer service and subpar food.

cute little greek restaurant down in willow park. the food has been quite nice everytimei have come in and the service was very pleasant. the food is not super authentic but it's decent. i would recommend the saganaki.

i ate here for the firsttimetoday not knowing what to expect. the food was good and the staff friendly. the restaurant was clean and the only reason i didn't rate it higher is there is a lot on the menu that i can't eat (mushrooms tomatoes seafood). lots of gluten free options as well

ladies lunch. good food and atmosphere. service as attentive as we needed leaving us lots oftimeto visit.

good times. i dine here all thetimeand have always been impressed with both the food and service.
the rack of lamb is the best i've tried in the city. my wife loves the baklava.

the prices for the food and wine are reasonable and they always have creative features. i haven't tried one yet but i think one of these days i'll have to.

i would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

first and last!. the service was aweful! my friend was just greeting us as they were arriving and the manager was very quick to say please go to your seats! we let that passed, but then, the manager again did asked one of our friends to sit on the floor!!! she's just came to visit canada, arrived the other night, then this was how she was welcomed by the first restaurant she's been to here! how rude was that? when we talked to him to ask to apologize and explained that she's our visitor, he quickly said, i will not apologize, she should be the one to say sorry to me!!! where in the world did you see such customer service like this? our group filled up half of his restaurant that night and none of us will definitely go back!!! very traumatizing to firsttimeclients like us and specially to our visitor from ireland!

dinner at broken plate macleod. firsttimeat the broken plate. i wanted to try it because of the wine and food festival. it was a birthday celebration. when the reservation was made they were told that. when we arrived no one was there to greet us. as i hung up my coat another 2 ladies came in and they were greeted and taken to their table. i found my own way to the table and almost running into 2 servers.
the waitress never told us there was a cocktail menu or what the soup of the day was. my hubby told her 3 times we were celebrating a birthday. the appitizers came out quickly. small in portions, the meat balls were burnt and dry.
an hour and 40 minutes later the entrees arrived. my lamb chop was amazing. some of the rest of the groups meals were not so great. the ribs were dry.
after i got my dessert, a table beside us got a birthday candle and a song. when i asked why i didn't get a candle the waitress says, " oh you want us to sing for you?" guess by my husband saying it was my birthday was not a big enough hint. i asked if there was a plate or something i can throw.
the waitress brought out a plate.
sorry now matter how delicous the lamp chop was i will not go back and never recomend bringing hungry teenagers.

not bad for my first time. when i go for ethnic food i like to be sucked in to the culture and this did not happen my firsttimetrying greek. the food was good but i felt like i was dining at any other restaurant. there was plate throwing but you are just throwing a plate into the bar area...

not only my favorite greek place...it's my favorite period.. i'm really surpized this place isn't rated higher, as it's absolutely my favorite place to eat anywhere for lunch, i often just have a salad with grilled salmon. for dinner i've tried many of their entres, and they were all great. most of thetimei stick to chicken souvlaki, and it's the best i've had anywhere. i love greek food, and calgary has some good choics, but this is definitely my first choice.

going south. we used to be regulars here but the last 2 times have been unpleasant. the oysters were way undercooked onetimeand the service was poor the second. i think they are trying to just pump through the customers now rather than focus on quality.

didn't care for this the secondtimeround. had a decent first meal, but by our second visit, we wish we had tried someplace new. first course sampler is delicious, and salad is lovely. however, nothing after that had much appeal to me. better off driving a bit and dining at someplace with more quality..
