great place to "pig out". delicious food, friendly service , and an upbeat atmosphere. creative menu items that you will surely love. prices range from $10.00 or less for appetizers and $11.00-$30.00 for entrees. this restaurant offers a private lot for customers. this is a must-try restaurant.

waste of time. assumed the negative reviews left here were the result of simply a bad night. however, i will never return to the bob. our group of 3 started a small bachelorette party here this saturday (may 15th). the inside of the restarutant was closed for a private party. the patio area was full. the management offered us a table out front, which was fine with us. we paid the $5 cover for the band slated to play. our drinks arrived promptly, and that's when it went down hill. we waited another good half an hour to order dinner, not once did our waitress come to check on us. after waiting another solid 40 minutes for our food, half of the order arrived, brought out by a runner.

my friend, who ordered the crab special, which was being cooked on the patio on a grill, waited yet another half an hour to receive her food, to which our waitress blamed on tickets being printed in the kitchen, and not out front (i ask, did everyone who ordered the special that night wait well over an hour for their entree?). they made no attempt to knock anything off the bill or offer us even an appetizer as she waited.

finally, after dinner and a few more drinks, another friend joined us. sitting out front, it took over half an hour to receive the beer she ordered. we decided we'd had enough and would just like the check. we asked our waitress to bring it. it was another twenty minutes before she had come back to take the card from us and run it. we then asked her if it would be possible to receive back the $5 cover we had each paid because, when we were seated out front, we were informed if we were only staying for dinner out front, we did not need to pay the cover. however, at that point, we had planned on staying. when the manager came out front, she tried to hassle us about receiving the $15 back.

i demanded my money out of principle (at 10 o'clock, no band had begun to play) and considered insisting she comp the crab that took so long to receive i figured it must have been blown in fresh from alaska after it was ordered. however, i let it go because i could tell she was not at all interested in our satisfaction with her establishment.

not only did they ruin the first part of my evening, they charged an a rathy pricey meal that was marginal at best. they also ran out four attractive young women from their bar on a saturday night. anyone in the restaurant business knows this is a bad move for revenue.

we went across the street to beale on broadway where the staff was friendly and accomodating, the music was phenominal, and we had a great time without spending a huge ton of cash. shame on your, bob. you really let us down and cost yourselves a lot of money. we would have been happy to spend a few hundred dollars at your bar had you treated us well. quite easily the worst service i have ever received.

what a gem!. this place is a hidden gem in the vast city of saint louis. the live outdoor jazz music gives the patio a wonderful vibe, and the food is a cut above the rest. the menu is diverse, with a variety of authentic cajun/creole recipes that make it seem like you are down in the french quarter. i would highly recommend the jambalaya. be sure to ask for the sweet cornbread muffins!

a fun surprise. i've been to new orleans a few times, and loved the local food scene, but felt that some restaurants got there cajun flavor by adding a lot of cayenne, butter, and cream. don't get me wrong, i like all of those things, and own every paul perdone cook book, but sometimes it can be a little heavy and dishes start to taste the same. this was not my experience at broadway oyster bar. the food had all the down home, comforting yet unique flavors of cajun food, but everything was well balanced and inspired. from the moment we walked into the place, we felt transported to the big easy. the atmosphere was stop on, and they have live music every night of the week! the place was packed, and we didn't get there until 8pm, so it wasn't even prime dinner hour or a prime night to go out. i was very happy with the grilled oysters- smoky, savory, and very satisfying. for dinner i got the special, which on that night was a grouper served in a bechamel sauce, mashed potatoes green beans and smoked crawfish. fantastic. i was captivated by every dish carried through the dinning area, there were so many things that i want to come back and try. one night, i think it would be fun to just have beers and eat few of the broiled crawfish appetizers- they serve them in pales with lemon and garlic but on the side, and they looked really enticing. the cocktail menu overs a few new orleans inspired cocktails and they have an interesting beer selection, as well a quite a few on tap. i didn't get to try the bread pudding, after a hurricane and the food, i was full, but it gives me something else to look forward to in the future.

the one thing i would add, for any oyster bar lovers out there, is this probably isn't the place to go for raw oysters on the half shell. they only offer blue point oysters and they are better cooked in the variety of preparations they offer, but you can order them raw. just fyi.

so, at first glance, you'd think that this place was abandoned, but it isn't. when you approach the main door it reads "leave your attitude at home". i knew this place was gonna be nothing that i expected. the decor is absolutely amazing. the food is the best cajun/creole this far north if the crescent city. they have live music at nights & weekends. 100% love this place! inside & outside decor is worth the visual. art in it's own right. my #1 place when coming to the gateway city.

was told the wait was 30 minutes. stood outside for 1 hour and 30 minutes and then went inside and asked for there was an eta. was told of “oh we’re sorry we forgot about your table. we will add you and get you inside as soon as possible.” add another 45 min to the wait time and when we asked about the wait time we’re told “we have people that made reservations 2 weeks ago. you’ll have to wait.” we proceeded to wait outside for 30 more minutes then asked again, and in response we were told “what do you want us to do?” i’m sure the food is fine here, but the manager and hostess were legitimate jerks to us. we have no intention of going here again, and we strongly recommend people find any other place to give a try that doesn’t lie to you just to keep you waiting around.

disgusting!!!! i was in the mood for one of my many choice good food establishments. while i love visiting places that have never let me down, i was let down big time on this visit. i ordered a lobster poboy. it had pieces of rice on the bun and a few on the plate. my antennas were up. however, my spouse had rice in his dish, so my reluctant thought was that maybe some of his rice fell onto my plate. thinking back on other instincts, the rice seemed like it was stuck to my bun which is unlike a drop. in the spirit of low conflict since this was my reward meal after a hard day, i ate my meal thinking maybe its just me being paranoid. i continued on to enjoy the night out. so, i ate half there and took the rest home for tomorrow. i woke up the next morning with a stomach ache and had to go to the bathroom. explaining away - maybe it was the spice(unusual), my nerves(unlikely). i've had this meal before, so i was in a bit of denial about what was going on. lunch time rolls around, i warm up my sandwich. as i ate, i began to wonder about the texture of the lobster which felt like shrimp. i opened up the sandwich to examine the meat closer and found a shrimp. while looking closer at what i thought was an herb, i found a mosquito mixed in sauce and breading!! a mosquito!!! i called to speak to someone, but the manager that i spoke to did not care since i did not find it while i was in their establishment. i will not be coming back, nor will my mouth ever speak well of this place again.

when you first drive up, you think is a typical dive bar. this place is absolutely amazing! the decor and atmosphere is so laid back and fun. all the decor makes you look around and take it all in. the food is fantastic! i have never been to new orleans, but you would have a hard time convincing me the food is any better down there. we sampled many dishes but the gumbo was outstanding! the smokey flavor was nothing like i had tried before. if it was the only menu option it is worth it. the past is also fantastic! will most definitely be coming back!!

great atmosphere with better food. have the oyster shooter (a shot of vodka, bloody mary mix, oyster) for your health and the deep-fried oyster po'boy for enjoyment. the oysters were fresh and cooked to perfection and the texture/flavor combination of the sandwich was spot on. make sure to add a splash of tabasco to the po'boy to take it over the top. the atmosphere of the place only adds to the experience. looks like a dive but is clean and well kept, with lower light and live music. this is a place i'll hit every time i'm in town.
