the good:
the lobster bisque was amazing. their specialty drink was presented beautifully. the ambience was very pretty. service was attentive with everyone except our main server. when they had made a mistake with our reservation they very quickly corrected it and got us a table.

the bad:
primary server was very slow and a bit rude. she brought the wrong specialty drink and when i pointed it out politely she argued with me. she brought lemon. i ordered cranberry. she was sure the cranberry was infused in the back. when i pointed out my drink had limes not lemon she again argued with me but agreed to check. i read the description right off the menu. sure enough to no surprise i had the wrong drink. this took over thirty minutes to get corrected.
my steak while cooked a perfect medium was served warm along with everything else. the steak and the scallops lacked any flavor at all. it was agoodcut of beef but i do like a well seasoned meal and this was just bland. i tasted one of my dining companions pretzel coated trout and again cool and bland. given the price point of this place the food should be top notch. it was really unremarkable as a whole.
if the pricing were about half what it is i would say go, but there are much better fine dining establishments in kc to go to.
additionally while the ambience was very pretty with dim lighting and a beautiful fireplace it was very noisy. we were tucked away in a corner and still had to talk loudly to hear each other.
id return for a drink in the bar but not likely to be back for dinner.

i really enjoyed my experience here, our waiter was knowledgable and helpful but not overbearing. the food was prettygoodeven though there was a slight hiccup with my order. it's a nice spot for special occasions.

best dining experience. if you are looking forgoodfood andgoodservice, then this is the place to go. i had the most amazing dining experience i have every had and the food was so delicious. a definite keeper.

outstanding service. my wife and i went there friday evening and had 2 verygooddinners. and over and above that our waiter tony could not have been nicer or more helpful in making our evening wonderful. also the gm, joe provided me the a nice sampleing of a menu item that i had been admiring at a nearby table, besides the delicious fish that tony had recommended. great people andgoodfood.

our "go to" place for agooddinner. the food and service at bristol are alwaysgood- we've been there literally dozens of times and never been disappointed. we're from the east coast and a bit picky about our seafood but i can honestly say we've always been satisfied with bristol's quality and preparation. their scallops are always cooked perfectly and never overdone and their lobster bisque is quite tasty.

go to brunch!. my hubs and i finally got to check out bristol's sunday brunch. he'd been there before for dinner and had nothing butgoodthings to say, but i'm actually not a a huge fan of seafood. however, all-you-can-eat brunch is right up my alley. it's a little steep at $27/adult, but i think it was well worth it. they have a omelet and waffle station, which, in my opinion, is all you really need. but then they have a hole spread of hot foods - my favorite were the sausages and bacon. the bacon was amazing! i'm usually disappointed in bacon at restaurants, especially buffets. it's usually scrawny and thin with little flavor. but this bacon was thick, cooked perfectly, and packed with that's salty bacon flavor that i so love. the dessert bar was pretty amazing as well. i'm not usually a bread pudding fan, but theirs rocks my socks. probably because they had some chocolatey sauce resembling nutella that i could pour over it. the carrot cake was pretty awesome, too!

enjoyed the food. lobster mac n cheese was amazing!! waitress was very knowledgable of the wine list and menu. overall agoodexperience.

lunch. first time here in many many years. walking in to door greated by more than 1 person. seated promptly and our waiter was spot on. the lobster bisque was well flavored, but after an additional cost i still had problems finding pieces of lobster. the dinner size crap cakes weregoodwith very little filler, which meant lots of crab..the mashed potatoes were cold with little flavor & the aspargras was bitter & cold. the drinks were very weak. for the price i expected better. i may try it again if i am already out that way, but will send the cold items back. i was more interested in my conversation with a friend to bother this time.

my visit to bristol was by far disappointing. we requested a table by the fire when we placed our reservation online. when we arrived to the restaurant the hostess sat us at booth and not near the fire, when we asked about why we weren’t seated by the fire the hostess informed us that there was a large party booked in that room and they were not able to place us by the fire but they knew about our request. it would have been nice to be notified when we arrive or some kind of communication prior to our visit; it just felt like our request was completely ignored. the booth was ok the restaurant was fairly decent in appearance but we noticed the tables across from us had chairs that appeared to belong to a banquet and was a little off putting since this is a nice restaurant it looked like the budget ran thin when they had to order chairs.
we were greeted and our drink order was taken while we viewed the menu. we order the jumbo lump crab cake and fried calamari for starters. the crab cakes were not jumbo at all and a bit fishy it just fell apart not much flavor and not much texture. i felt that i wanted more sauce just so i could have more flavors the best part of the crab cake was the slaw that was in the middle. the slaw stole the show on this plate when it should have been the crab cake. i didn’t have any calamari but i didn’t hear any complaints from the guests at the table. we were not quit finished with our starters when the soups arrived two of our guests ordered the maine lobster bisque, the main complaint were the lack of chunks of lobster meat. it was just flavored lobster bisque soup. this soup clearly missed the mark. on to the main course, three of us ordered the steak and lobster, two with asparagus and whipped potatoes and the other plate had the roasted brussels sprouts and potatoes gratin. our other guest had just the lobster tail with the asparagus and whipped potatoes. i would like to note that the server pushed for the asparagus and whipped potatoes. all steaks were ordered medium and were perfect in temperature when they arrived at the table. the steaks had a bit of a smokey flavor to them which wasn’t noted that the steaks were going to have a mesquite grill just all fish. i would have ordered mine without the mesquite flavor had i known this is how they were going to be cooked. the lobster was a bit on the tough side and the person that was only eating lobster switched her tail with mine because hers was too tough. the veggies were subpar the potatoes weregoodbut again they were potatoes i wouldn’t expect anything else. at this point we were done with our meal, we received our bill and out the door. no one raved about their dinner on the way home. the next day is when we voiced our disappointment the quality of the food. for the amount of money we spent we would have been better off going to a different restaurant. i was embarrassed for my mom who is the one that wanted to “wine and dine” us for the night.

good restaurant week. we went during restaurant week and had a lovely experience. blake was our server and he was so helpful picking between our options. i'd heard several bad reviews of other restaurants who gave bad service if you were ordering off the prix-fire restaurant week menu but found nothing butgoodfood and great service. we'll definitely be back. the only downside is power and light parking sucks but that's nothing new.

great food. lots of small touches.. everything about this place has been well done. it's immaculate, classy, and comfortable. the menu changes often, but most of the staple items remain. the chef does agoodjob of incorporating interesting items, while leaving in more conventional tastes. they have an extensive wine list. my favorite item is the tuna char steak. their appetizer list is extremely diverse, and while they have some normal items like the calamari, you can tell they are hand breaded, hand cut, and there are slices of carrots and jalapenos which go nicely with the calamari. absolutely, you must try the lobster mac 'n cheese. it's excellent. highly recommended, especially if you have the time to sit and enjoy your dinner.

great service andgoodfood. the sweet and sour sauce with the calmari was surprisingly good.

excellent business lunch spot. business luncheon with five of us, and everyone raved about the food. if you have the party size and can reserve it, definitely go for the private room in the back. really makes a difference if you are conducting business.

everyone seemed to get something different, and all enjoyed their choices. tuna nicoise, prepared excellent, one of the best i have had. large portion, and the fish was just slightly seared to perfection. someone had the scallops and loved them. the almond crusted tilapia was excellet. get the butter on the side or i understand it is swimming in butter.

try not to eat too many of the excellent crusty rolls they serve. delicious and addictive.
