bristol seafood grill

beautiful & very large seafood place just inside 270 loop on olive. dimly lit & very atmospheric setting w/ large lounge area & comfortable seating, i very much felt as if i'd wandered into a very nice country club. the brunch server achieved just the right balance of attendance w/o hovering, & was always nearby when needed. the omelette & waffle stations were set apart at the front bar, while all else was centered nicely. i mostly enjoyed the cold & raw selections, w/ generous & fine choices of oysters, smoked salmon, scallops, salads, fruit, & accompaniments. the breakfast foods were also copious & tasty. the brunch entrees, incl the carved beef joint, as a whole were less than stellar, but there was enough variety for everyone to find something to their liking. the only real disappointment was the dessert table, which featured single cookies, etc & one of my least favorite sweets in the world, bread pudding. a mite less than expected for a very nice wknd brunch. my sweet tooth was easily satisfied, however, w/ a waffle piled high w/ fruit & cream.

my new favorite place in st. louis. travel all over us and i have my favorites. food was great, drinks were perfect, staff was exceptionally. don't get scared by a seafood grill in the middle of the country. go there.

great food and service as usual. they've added some interesting things to the menu, and the dishes are creative and delicious. the heirloom tomato salad with basil ice cream and torn mozzarella was divine (but chilled tomatoes are a no no). the old standbys are perfectly executed, it is a menu that deserves another look if you haven't been there in a while.

overall the food was excellent, in the future i would pass on the vietnamese egg roll. service was exemplary, including the manager stopping by to wish us well.  rest assured, we will be back.

the best seafood we have ever had!!! everything was wonderful! the food was perfection and the drinks were pretty amazing!! my hubby recommends the white manhatten!!!!! even the deep fried carrots mixed in with the calamari appetizer was enough to make you leave satisfied!!!!!!!

really great sea food. lobster mac and grilled artichoke are great sides with whatever fish you choose. location downtown is great especially when the weather is nice enough to sit outside.

i really enjoyed my experience here, our waiter was knowledgable and helpful but not overbearing. the food was pretty good even though there was a slight hiccup with my order. it's a nice spot for special occasions.

the oysters here are fresh and delicious! strongly recommend the orange sauce. service was pleasant and cordial, and the drinks were of a fine quality. it was a lovely date site, with boothes and high tables available. the only problem: the mussels seemed a little over garliced to me.

the server was slow in providing service - and when asked about a beverage was told it was not available - yet the server at the table next to us offered the allegedly not available beverage to her table - the manager wound up cleaning the dirty plates off of our table since the server and/or buser was not doing it.

we love bristol seafood grill. we enjoy eating at bristols. we always receive excellent service and the food is wonderful. we both ordered the mixed seafood grill for our entrée for a variety of seafood. my husband loves oysters and is never disappointed with them at bristols. i was too full to enjoy dessert this time. if you don't like "smoke" taste, don't order the grilled asparagus. it was too smokey for me but now that i know how they prepare it, i just will make another selection! this time we had a birthday coupon for a free entrée! what a nice gift!!

best dining experience. if you are looking for good food and good service, then this is the place to go. i had the most amazing dining experience i have every had and the food was so delicious. a definite keeper.

always excellent food!. great food, great service. pricey, but have never had a bad experience. well worth it!

outstanding service. my wife and i went there friday evening and had 2 very good dinners. and over and above that our waiter tony could not have been nicer or more helpful in making our evening wonderful. also the gm, joe provided me the a nice sampleing of a menu item that i had been admiring at a nearby table, besides the delicious fish that tony had recommended. great people and good food.

phenomenal!. we shopped urban spoon for seafood in st louis and decided on bristols. we were not disappointed! we sampled the lobster bisque and clam chowder and crab cakes. all were great! thanks laura and joe!
