we stopped at brickstorepub on our way down to the georgia dome to see a falcons game. we’d heard traffic was going to be horrendous because of georgia tech playing that night also and vp biden in town, so we decided to take marta downtown instead of driving. you can practically fall out of the brickstorepub and land in the decatur marta station and we had eaten there before so we wanted to know if it was good as the last time.

we walked in and were seated right away. it was early for dinner but we wanted to eat early, ride the train and be in our seats with plenty of time to spare before the game. we soon had our drinks and decided on a cheese plate to get started.

our server was kind enough to help us make our selections and was quite knowledgeable about the cheese they served. we decided on the sgd asher blue, oma and l’amuse gouda. when the plate came it’s served on a wooden plank and each cheese is paired with a side item and it comes with bread.

the blue is paired with apple and it made a really delightful combination. the oma is paired with peach slices and its truly perfect together. finally the gouda comes with pecans and it is really amazing. the cheese plate was fantastic! last time we visited we chose the charcuterie but we melanie largely abstaining from meat, the cheese plate was the perfect selection.

for our entrées, i chose the pierogi primavera that is served in a garlic parmesan cream sauce. our server pointed out that this is a vegetarian dish and he recommended adding the andouille sausage to it. great recommendation! if you aren’t familiar with pierogies, it’s a polish dumpling that can be filled with almost anything but many times, they use potatoes. that’s the way it was in this case and it was fantastic. this is not a mild dish, but its not overly spicy either. it does have a bit of heat and may not be a good choice for diners with a mild palate. i thought it was awesome and would highly recommend it as the dish has tons of flavor and is quite filling!

melanie went with the chicken pot pie and thought it was the absolute bomb! the crust was flaky and tender and the inside was piping hot and filled with bite-size chunks of tender chicken. this is a must have and perfect for the rainy weather we were having this evening!

brickstorepub is casual and a great place to meet friends. they have a large craft beer selection and its reminiscent of an old english pub. the food is excellent and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. we think that you’ll have a fantastic time at brickstorepub!

meaty & tasty

brickstorepub has a fun and friendly vibe. all the servers go out of their way to make you welcome and to take care of your needs.

the food is heavy on the meat. we particularly enjoyed the burgers, meatloaf sandwich, brunswick stew and the trout.

prices were reasonable.

brickstorepub is just that. a local pub but possibly one of the best ones in the metroish area.  pubs are not destination dining and let’s be honest, decatur is destination dining if you do not actually live in decatur. it’s dark, seedy in the best possibly way, multi level (bonus-more is better!) loud  as any self respecting pub should be, and most important a killer alcohol selection-namely beer. if you’re into that sort of thing. i only go to a pub if i am with a fella that wants  his hops-on.  as a devout wheat beer woman i have to be coaxed and educated into other options and with options like brickstorehas then why not? variety is the spice of life and indeed that is what you get here. the staff has always been very knowlegable in guiding in the right direction if you get overwhelmed or stumped. bonus that there are no tv's here. do you really need that competing with everything else going on in there? let’s not turn a pub into a sports bar or cnn depression zone.  pubs evoke moods and that should not include competition or political debate. we’re all friends here. let’s keep it that way. the food is well past decent by pub food standards. the decatur crowd would lynch anything less.  country chicken pate is noted contains bacon. a surefire selling point. get it.  decaturized hummus done with white bean variation and a play on bangers and mash in the style of the south: sausage and grits. delicious pub blasphemy of arugula salad and a vegetarian sandwich feature for those of you watching your heart palpitations.  usual suspects are there though fear not. chicken fingers, burgers along with the holy grail fish and chips and shepherd’s daughter pie. i’ve been before and i’ll be there again. happy to know you, brickstorepub. posted may 1, 2012 author stephanie anderson kyma. a review. kyma is part of the reliable buckhead restaurant group family of moderate to fine dining eateries.  it’s generally a safe assumption that any of their establishments will deli

great casual atmosphere & food. i really enjoyed the brickstorepub. great casual atmosphere with original brick interior walls, rough hewn floors, and what appears to be a vintage bar. excellent beer selection and unique menu choices. roasted chicken with grits and mushrooms was excellent. service was very attentive and team oriented... multiple people offered drink refills, offered to take our order, cleared dirty dishes, etc. the manager stopped to ask how our meals were. i'd recommend it to anyone looking for a casual option with unique eats.

brickstorepub is right on court house square in decatur. parking in this neck of the woods is a bit of a challenge but not impossible. the restaurant's interior is faux country southern and quite cheery. i found the service to be a little random. i started with their pickled vegetable plate. everything was good. the pickled cucumber had a nice sweetness to it that i really enjoyed. none of the vegetables were extremely sour. the dollop of mustard was similarly subtle. my burger was pretty good but i thought it could have used a little more pizzaz. i was most disappointed in the bun, which was just workmanlike. a little toasting would have been nice; a bun with more of a crust would have been great.

one of my favorites!. you can't beat this beer selection! not only do they have two separate bars, 20+ craft beers on draft, and some drafts rotating, but they also have an elite "cellar" list. the servers and bartenders are exceptionally personable and knowledgeable about the variations in the beers, and the "pub fare" is phenomenal. not a frequent liquor drinker myself, but their whiskey and other spirit selection is excellent, too.

this place has one of the best atmosphere's in town: a product of the decor (including ever-changing local art, barrel tables, vintage beer paraphernalia), menu (leather cover with a wood binding and a chain to hang from each table), overall style (brick walls, exposed beams), and an amazing staff. the belgian bar upstairs is also really neat, a bit more intimate, whereas the downstairs bar has very high ceilings and is very open.

i also really appreciate that they are kid-friendly. in my mid-twenties, a lot of my friends have small kids, and it's great to be able to enjoy this atmosphere with the kids enjoying themselves, too!

one negative is that i wish they had more outdoor seating space, but their location in downtown decatur limits that. regardless, brickstoreis generally packed most times of the day, rain or shine, inside and out! i had lunch there around 2 on a weekday last week, and they were pretty busy!

fountain of beer geeks. wow! this place is the stop for beer geeks passing through atlanta! located in a hip part of decatur with plenty of other food/shopping options, brickstorepub is a mecca for beer. taps upstairs and downstairs stacked with premium craft beer + a cellar of drink-in-store vintage bottles. yum! can't wait to come back here. had a great time and highly recommend

nice pub in decatur. the brickstorepub is a neat little place. i like the decor of the whole place, especially the front door. they have a good beer list with a lot of different choices for any beer lover. they also have a bar both on the ground level and upstairs. i had the brick burger with chips (wedge fries) and it was pretty good. i added the spicy mustard to it which they make in-house and it is awesome. however, i would describe it as a slightly spicy honey mustard. really good, but if you're looking for truly spicy, it ain't that. i'll definitely be going back to try some other items on the menu and to have another craft beer.

incredible beer selection and good food. every time i've gone to the brickstorepub it's been for a longing of their great selection of belgian lagers and ales. no place in the city of atlanta has a larger selection on draft or in the bottle. the food is very good also. not pub grub but more of a gastropub fare. remember not to drive yourself home after going here though. have a designated driver. :)

best place to have a great beer or six!. best bar and beer in atlanta...hands down. i think they have food too, but by the time i've ordered i've had so many damn good beers i'd probably eat anything...but i do love the fish and chips

great atmosphere, don't really know any other place like it in town. the porter is the only place that comes close. the staff at brickstoreis very knowledgeable on all types of beers. this place opened my eyes to a whole new world of excellent beers. the belgian bar upstairs is my favorite place, and it's now open all day.

try to trappistes rochefort 10...then go to hop city or green's to buy it for much less!
