nice server, terrible food , weird managment. just stopped in to try breakfast on a busy saturday morning, granted we didn't make a reservation for breakfast, we waited half an hour to get sat down. by no means a problem but for this small creperie (maybe only 40 seats) kinda strange. the restaurant was busy which is usually a good sign that people like the food or at least want to try it. while waiting i asked another guest " is this a new place?" he replied " fairly new, around 8 months old." other guests leaving the door after their meal were all saying "it's worth the wait"so in my mind i'm thinking that this place is busy after 8 months with a line out the door and raving guests must be good . this is my first review of any restaurant ever but the food was so bad i had to write about it. so after the wait we sat down to a small table in the corner, ( not bad at all, i'm an avid diner in numerous restaurants and generally don't mind where we eat) but it was a tad cramped and i told the family of three behind me to tell me if i should move my chair if they needed the space, this was the same gentleman i asked at the door about the place. after ordering our drinks, 2 coffees , espresso and grapefruit juice no problems then they were served the coffee was bland and not something you would expect for a breakfast place. the espresso obviously came out of a stovetop pot with coffee grounds lining the mug. the espresso was luke-warm and sour , on a positive note the pink grapefruit juice was nice but not hard to get right. we then ordered their flagship breakfast crepe with scrambled eggs, sausage, and cheese, my babe added spinach to the dish. i ordered the smoked salmon crepe benedict with "silver dollar crepes, smoked salmon, capers, red onion, and hollandaise .disclaimer: i love hollandaise sauce, i always want to order it but in far too many restaurants around wny can't get it right. i asked our server " how is the hollandaise here?" she replied "very good, i love putting it on my potatoes" in my mind i'm excited , if the servers are excited about the food then it's usually good . our food came out fast, maybe 15 minutes after we ordered. it's an open kitchen most likely designed for a fast paced service with a good looking, clean, chef at the helm. these are all good signs that would reflect good breakfast food. i couldn't be more wrong, to start our plates came out , everything was not hot or even warm! the potatoes that accompanied the food were seasoned well but thats the best part. my babe's breakfast crepe was massive cold "hot pocket" looking thing with cut up jimmy dean sausage links and frozen spinach and scrambled brown eggs , they must pre-make the crepes( not a problem, considering the place was packed) but make sure they are at least warm and frozen spinach? c'mon thats just terrible, i mean how hard is it to throw a handful of baby spinach into some eggs while they are cooking? the salmon benedict was a joke, smoked salmon scraps, knarly cut onions, 6 capers lol, and some yellow goo that they called hollandaise, it was so bad , "broken" and cold . i almost forgot to mention the rotten blueberries on the side of our plates we had 3 bites of each dish and told our server we were done. she then told the manager about the situation , lucky us , she took off a whooping 10% for the combined six bites we had of our breakfast, and then told us that they were uncommonly busy so the food didn't get to us as fast as usual. ha! i felt bad for everyone else waiting for garbage. our bill was $33.05 after our "discount" thanks but we won't be coming back and your microgreen garnish isn't going to mask your attempt at servingcrepesor breakfast for that matter
