french inspired bistro serving prici-ish locally grown food in the heart of bishop arts. extensive wine list to boot.

sight: saturday at 8:00 pm. interior restaurant was crowded as was the outdoor patio seating. a couple of bar stools were vacant for those dropping in for a bite or drink.

sound: busy, buzzing people of couples and double daters.

touch: dark wood tables, clean and comfy booth seating.

smell: n/a

taste:
farm to market salad- chef’s choice of salad…felt like kitchen remnants thrown into a bowl without much care to any flavor combinations.

grilled baby octopus- tasty, ample appetizer. octopus was a bit chewy and heavy handed on the acid, but overall a good starter.

beef tartar- classic beef tartar served with mini raw quail egg and crispy potato disc. meat was seasoned well and the crispiness of the potato added great texture. ratio of egg to meat was a bit off, creating an overall slimy texture for the dish. toasted baguette served warm was a nice accompaniment.

grass fed burger- served with house bacon and gruyere. delicious. meaty, juicy, well seasoned charred burger that had an overall great mouthfeel. homemade crisp french fries were addicting.

crisp lamb neck- delicious, crisp, lamb atop an herby, citrusy couscous salad. rare cut but delicious and interesting prep.
brussel sprouts- roasted with crispy edges with a touch of soy and fish sauce. a good sidedish.

boulevardier is fun brunch spot in the bishop arts district, with a variety of french and traditional dishes for sunday brunch.  i settled onto a bar stool, and awaited my selection of hash boulevardier.  this dish consists of mushrooms, greens and potato, with two eggs, and breakfast sausage, with a side of black pepper hollandaise for drizzling.      it was a wonderful entree, filling but not heavy, and was a perfect comfort dish in a bowl.   the restaurant is also great for dinner, having a variety of french dishes, a nice oyster program, and well rounded french wine list!      glenn almack

the crawfish beignets are slap yo' mama amazing. get them. i also had the berkshire pork chop. i can't recommend it over other things on the menu because i haven't had those other things and i think it's entirely possible that boulevardier is one of those magical places where every dish makes you grateful that you chose it. i will say that my pork chop was the best pork chop i've ever had. sorry, everybody else, boulevardier wins the gold in pork chops. keep killin' it, boulevardier.

probably the best brunch spot i've ever tried in dfw so far, with exceptional menus like prospector's breakfast (the crispy oyster is amazing!), legs & eggs (duck comfit with huckleberry preserves), and le petit dejeuner (croissant, biscuit, baguette with honey and jams - perfect for kids) . elegant and french-inspired interior with yet a very laidback vibe. would definitely try the cocktails next time!

this place has been on my wish list for quite some time. finally made it. the burger was scrumptious cooked medium rare. interesting cocktail menu. sat at the bar. service was less than attentive. i had to ask for a refill cocktail. the oysters were fabulous very fresh and not too expensive. i would definitely go back.

outstanding food but *not* inexpensive. ate there last night and it was quite delicious. had the charcuterie which was lovely and served with toast points. also had the french onion soup, salad and cassoulet. while the soup and salad were excellent, the cassoulet (at $26) was a huge disappointment. it was overcooked and a bit of pasty mess. also be aware that this is not an inexpensive place to eat. the wines are expensive. we bought their only bottle less than $40 and including tax and tip, the bill was $180!!! definitely a "treat" restaurant.

charcuterie plate, french onion soup, salad. very successful dishes. well thought out and served with baguette toast points.

j. ward. wanted something different for our anniversary and was intrigued by the bishop arts district. read the reviews on
different places and decided on boulevardier after reading them. wow! it was exceptional. we loved everything.
on a recommendation from the waitress, i ordered duck wings for an appetizer, and my husband had the oysters...both were outstanding. the duck wings was a large order and would have been enough to share so that
was great. for entrees, i went with the roast lambs neck after reading the reviews and it was awesome. my
husband got the swordfish and it was ok. he liked mine better. wine was good, service was good, atmosphere good, even with
a power outage for the whole block. i would definitely recommend this place. also, they do have a parking lot next to the restaurant.

best foie gras in dfw. i went to boulevardier last night and had the foie gras. holy sh*t it was the best i have ever had.. the liver was scored to make it extra crispy on the outside and oh so amazing with the french toast, blueberry, fig, maple syrup, granola....
it was the most amazing i have had thus far and honestly it's hard to imagine it getting better but i will still keep looking.i don't even eat sweets but this was like the most delicious breakfast you have ever had but perfect at dinner time.. i ordered one and then ordered another before i left and complimented the chef and told him please don't change it but they pointed out that it will eventually change but people have been loving it.
pork chop was as good as pork chops get. exotic raw oysters always good. wood grilled oysters very good. smoked pork belly is a great snack but cut like a piece of bacon so not made in traditional way that you might expect but still tasty. fried chicken liver salad was impressive and i don't usually like chicken liver.

my husband & i live in oak cliff yet haven't been able to hit all the small restaurants in bishop arts.

today, we had our date night and decided to come here at the recommendation of a patron that was leaving.

we were promptly seated. the order isn't a huge selection, but that wasn't an issue at all. the menu is one page front and back. my husband and i don't drink but for those that do there is a huge selection of wines.

we decided to go with a chilled soup for our appetizer. it looked kind of weird - because of the green chive oil, but it was amazing. i would definitely return just for the soup on its own. my husband ordered the boullabaise (sp?) boulevardier - a seafood entree. i ordered the confit rabbit. my husband raved about his dish. my pasta was delicious although i did feel the rabbit was a little salted. for dessert we ordered the bread pudding. absolutely delicious! i highly recommend it.

i definitely recommend this place for a date!

an awesome place, hard to find a flaw. the food (that followed awesome scratch cocktails) was unique and amazing, on top of a great atmosphere and stellar service. i can't wait to return here.
