andrew kluger. in all of my experiences dining at bouchon in yountville i have never had a disappointing experience. any guests , family members, or staff that i have invited to join me there have departed either their expectations fulfilled. staff is most welcoming, their meal and dine selections make for a sensational gastronomic experience and everyone leaves with a smile and desire to return. thank you for enriching our life experiences!

wonderful dining experience. outstanding food! i had high expectations for a thomas keller establishment, and bouchon did not disappoint. had bone marrow for the first time in my life and it was delicious; boyfriend and i had to use our bread to get all the sauce off the plate... steak and frites were fantastic (best fries ever), and dessert was a crowning glory to the meal. the ambience and scenery were added bonuses. the only reason i am not giving bouchon 5 stars is that i think our service could have been a little better for the quality level of the restaurant. still, the overall experience was excellent, and i will definitely be back.

bouchon bistro is the perfect example of a restaurant doing something specific, incredibly well – it doesn’t try for modernist touches or strange ‘fusions’. it’s rustic french food, classically cooked and thoughtfully presented.

an absolute cracker. this was our first dinner in yountville so expectations were high, and were certainly met in this french bistro. right from the get go the bread that resembled a wheat husk was delicious right through to the stunning pear and ice cream dessert. each dish was executed with a deft hand and never disappointed. do yourself a favour and try bouchon.

to give you some sort of imagination, think of the great gatsby, everything was traditional white table-cloth, suit and tie personnel and lipstick red furniture.a saloon bar took up the entire back wall of the restaurant whereas table and booth seating remained the theme,

bouchon is perhaps becoming a victim of its own success. the career defining french laundry has elevated thomas keller to such an elite status in the eyes of food enthusiasts that anything but perfection is viewed as a letdown. bouchon is everything it was meant to be, a casual restaurant that takes full advantage of its location and surroundings. this wasn't meant as a life altering restaurant, simply enjoy the food, it's pretty darn good.

after a full day of wine tasting all over napa, we settled in to dinner at bouchon, a thomas keller restaurant that i love. there’s a bouchon bakery in new york that ken and i go to all of the time, but their menu is limited compared to what this bouchon offers. we started off with their signature bread with a white bean dip and butter: my side of the table decided to share everything and order family style, so we started out with some beef tartare: and whitefish with a melange of vegetables: we shared some filet with fried onions: and the seasonal gnocchi: everything was delicious, so much so that we ordered another side of french fries, even though we had some with another dish:

amazing cuisine. there were four in our party...we all order different appetizers,
entrees and desserts. we also shared each course with
one another.
every single item elicited wows from all of us! the roast
chicken was unbelievable...better than any roast chicken i've
eaten in france, where i've been over 30 times! the mussels,
oysters and steak were all wonderful!
we can't wait to hopefully return to experience such a platonic
dining experience in the years ahead.

start with a 3-cheese course. we tried mimolette (cow's milk) - hard, tangy, and rich; cavatina (goat's milk) - creamy, with a crust, like blue cheese; tourmalet (sheep's milk) - delicious! they were served with bread, honeycomb, walnut and cranberries bread.

stepping inside bouchon was like taking a trip across the atlantic. the red awning, mosaic tile floor, chalkboards listing today's specials, and the noise - plenty of noise - all combined for a feel that was more latin quarter and less yountville. if a quiet, private dining experience is what you're after, bouchon is not the place for you, because the tables are packed closer together than the middle seat in coach. on the other hand, those that have a love for paris will feel right at home.

from the squash blossoms, to the truffle fries to the sausage, this restaurant will not disappoint. you will get very fat eating there, but you will be very happy.

very disappointing- we reserved bouchon for our last night in napa (saving the best for last..or so thought). our party of six left very disappointed. my boyfriend ordered the steak and frites, which i will admit, was amazing. as for everything else, extremely underwhelming. i was not impressed with the menu selections, but i thought, "this is thomas keller's place! i'm sure anything i order will be unforgettable!" well it wasn't. i've had better meals from run-of-the-mill french restaurants not run by superstar chefs. i really regret not going back to tra vigne for my final meal (that place is phenomenal).

we had high expectations but were disappointed. my lamb was average as was most of the food for our group of six. deserts were outstanding but the rest of the meal was outstanding.

two words - truffle fries!. making our booking from australia three months in advance, i worried had i made the right choice considering there are more michelin stars per square metre in yountville than anywhere else in the world.

i feared for naught. this restaurant was exceptional, and so reasonably priced i can't believe the calibre of the food and service. we went on a tuesday evening just after new years and even then the place was packed. we had to wait a while for our table, and we given a glass of complimentary champagne to sip while we waited.

the rabbit terraine we shared for entree was beyond amazing. succulent pieces of rabbit served in it's own jar with prune puree. when we ran out of toast, before we could ask for more a waiter was at my elbow with another serving to finish it off. the steak and lamb were cooked to perfection and every morsel was savoured.

the thing that really wowed me though were the truffle fries. i don't think i've ever eaten anything as amazing in my life. who doesn't love deep fried potato, but add a liberal dusting of black truffle and you have pure heaven. i love how the establishment isn't to high and mighty to provide such a simple joy too the diner.
