was in search for a quick bite and thisplacehad very good ratings!
now this is a small homely cafe with a few tables, but theplaceis quite clean.
the owner is mr lovell fernandez, very cheerful guy and helped us choose from his vast menu. if you find the ambience not up to your standard, please don't turn away! the food was absolutely fabulous! really blew us away! we had the beef stake, beef chili, crab masala and the prawn combo meal.we also tried the mint drink and it was fabulous.
the crab masala was shredded crab meat fried with south indian spices. it had excellent flavor. the beef stake was very tender and juicy. the beef chili was also very well flavored. the combo meal had fried rice, salad, french fries and the chili prawn in batter. all the portions we're very good!

i could go on and on but to keep it short, it's an excellentplacefor some local food! go there if you love to eat and need value for money.

boston cafe is just theplacefor you if you're looking for a non-commercialized restaurant that emphasizes more on the taste of the food and their customers. during our stay in pondy we had visited here couple of times and we were not disappointed. everything we ordered was just perfect. both the beef curry and the fish curry with rice was amazingly tasty and so was the fish nuggets and fries. the owner of the restaurant and his staff was quite friendly and welcoming. until zomato publishes their latest menu here are some pictures of their menu and couple of dishes we had. 

trips to pondy mean visiting places like cafe xtasi, zuka, baker street etc but these are well explored now. so looking for something different for lunch, noticed this small cafe serving everything from parottas to burgers to steaks with rice and fresh juices at a very decent price. so we decided to try out thisplacelast visit and loved it!

on reaching the location, we were surprised with the size. it looked quite small with only a few tables inside. but then, never judge a restaurant by its size as long as it serves great food, that's what matters. ambiance was ordinary with a few tables n plastic chairs but neat. seating for about 20 people at most with additional space upstairs.

the owner himself was at the cash table taking care of business and it was his family doing the cooking inside. very homely setup and he suggested us to definitely try the beef dishes since that's what they were known for it seems. so we ordered 1 beef biriyani (rs 140), 1 beef curry (rs 140) for me along with a parotta set (rs 35), 1 rice and chicken curry (rs 150). ordered mint lime juices (rs 25) while waiting.

the mint lime juice came soon and it was very freshly made. could see it from the bright green from the ground mint. thisplaceis known for this juice. two of us ordered another glass.

the beef biriyani and parrota with beef curry came first and it was excellent. my parottas were some of the best i've had with that crunch n flakiness while the beef was very tender in the medium spicy curry. it didn't have any coconut oil flavor in it so probably not kerala style.

beef biriyani which i had a taste of was again lovely with lots of tender meat pieces and a mildly spicy flavor. the best dish however was the beef roast which was recommended and impressed us with the flavor and tenderness. got over within a minute. being anglo indians, they know how to prepare meat well. we had to order another serving to satisfy our craving. the homely flavor (in a yummy way :p ) in all the dishes was unmistakeable and seems to be focal point of this must try place. i could see the entire family helping with the cooking in the kitchen so that's not surprising.

service was excellent with water being served immediately and the owner was genial. unfortunately this was the last meal in pondy before heading back but next visit we would surely visit here first and try some of their other dishes like the beef burgers etc. and of course, many dishes here would be ideal "side-dishes" as well. ;-)

we have been visiting pondicherry for 10 years but visited thisplacefor the first time today, thanks to zomato. a humble eatery tucked inside a small lane of pondicherry which is not too inviting from outside since its a small place. being a foodie and a traveller, i have tried almost all good places in pondicherry, from surguru to villa shanti. have liked the food there but haven't tasted such tasty, home cooked meal which i had today at boston cafe. we ordred chicken curry rice combo and beef curry rice combo. both were super delicious. i haven't had a tastier and tender beef before. just loved it. chicken curry was also amazing, especially the gravy. there are value adds too, rasam, papad etc which aren't mentioned in the menu. chicken sandwich was also good. the owner is a very friendly person. and the prices are very reasonable. quality of food is really good. this is a must visitplaceif you are in pondicherry!

if you are out there in pondicherry to explore eateries, this nice small cafe is a must go. a less talked aboutplacewith a friendly decent decor, thisplaceserves the most tastebud tingling foods. must try out the beef steak, properly cooked with perfect tenderness. fish and chips is also a must go for this place.

boston café is located at mission street, puducherry. we visited thisplacefor dinner, by that time we were really exhausted. our priority was rice, so we were looking for a restaurant which serves indian food. then we came across boston café which has some good reviews. we ordered chicken biryani, rice with nethili curry and parotta. believe me food was delicious and it's like home cooked. food was perfect not too oily and not too spicy. my friend the hungry nomad was also satisfied with the food. so like that our day ended on a great note. restaurant was very small with hardly four to five tables.

don't get fooled by it's looks it's a smallplacebut unlce's food is yummy. he puts in the homely touch and customizes it as per your liking:)

impressive food quality and pricing. thisplacedeserves recognition, i've ordered from here on multiple occasions and i've found the food to be consistently tasty and fresh.

boston cafe on mission street is a homely kind ofplacewhich boasts of dishing out the best burgers in town. the patty used in the burger is freshly prepared and is soft and juicy and melts in the mouth. their omelettes are delectably tasty too esp. the french and spanish. the mint-lemon concoction is a healthy option for the pondi summer.all this and more at the price they offer. i say it's a steal.... bon appétit

it was almost evening and was in the hunt for a good café/snack spot. like i always believe, most of the best foods are only found in small/hidden places. this is one suchplacewith narrow table space and limited seating.

being an ardent chicken lover went after the chicken patty burger for the start. i was surprised to see the layers on it with great cheese and soft chicken in the middle. the oozing cheese challenged me to eat without getting my hands dirty; but, naaaa, i accepted my defeat and hugged it with both hands.
they recommended me to try out their beef sandwich since they served the best in the town. they couldn’t have sounded any better since it was definitely the best. the ground beef didn’t make me realize that i was eating beef. it was spicy, juicy and with the mint cooler, the flavours were kicking all around the mouth.

the service was courteous, but parking could be tricky at times. 

so we went there after knowing that thisplaceis good. we order chicken biriyani, prawn biriyani, beef burger combo, chicken burger combo, veg burger combo, peri peri fries, cold coffee, veg pulao, paneer masala, veg noodles, mashed potatoes with egg and steak. their service was too good, they were attending you like real quick, most of the dishes were too good. their veg noodles and pulao were just okay. definitely worth the money. their burger were so yummy. do visit if you go to pondicherry

all the items mentioned above are top notch. meats are so fresh, juicy and tender. i came to know from my friend that they will start preparing each n every food(except biriyanis/pulao) only after weplacean order. hence each order will take 20 to 25 minutes of preparation time. to avoid this, you can call the owner cum chef, preorder your food and get it served on time.

if you are someone for whom food means food and not ambience and instagram idiocies - this is theplaceto be! for me this now happens to be one of the top most places to eat at while in india! what an experience it has been relishing their steaks and cheese balls coupled with mint lime juice! simply fantastic! this is the kind ofplacewhere you can simply close your eyes and savour every bite that you eat! if i had the option to give more than 5 stars - i would’ve given that! kudos to the owner (who happens to be the head chef) and the team (who happens to be owner’s family)! 😊😊

one of the bestplaceto have food in pondicherry. food is delicious and portions are sizeable. would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this place.
