boshamps seafood & oyster house

worst restaurant we have eaten at in destin.. living just over an hour drive away, we make the trip down to destin 3 or 4 times a year. while we have our favorite restaurants, we like to try out different places on our trip. this place seems to getgoodreviews and is featured on the beach network, so we decided to give it a try. first the good. it is a nice place with friendly service and a nice view. unfortunately, that is all that isgoodabout it. we started out with the oysters rockafeller. they were cold, no spices what so ever and almost no spinch on them. they were served in the same pan that they serve the raw oysters in. this is rediculous. they should be in a pan with rock salt around and served right out of the oven so they are piping hot and the rock salt will help them maintain there temperature while eating them. this was almost a get up and leave deal for us, as we lovegoodoysters, but we decide to wait and see how the seafood gumbo was. mistake again. the gumbo had almost no seafood in it at all. i had one shrimp one crawfish tail, no crab, no fish, and loaded with okra. i still haven't figured out what type of seasoning that they had in the gumbo, but it left a bad after taste, and unfortunately, there was no cajun seasoning it it so it was very very bland. at this poiint we decide enough was enough. we cancelled the rest of our order, paid our bill and left. if they can't do the appitizers and soups well, i didn't even want to try their entree's. the insult to injury is that the prices are extremely high for what you get. skip this place and go next door. much better food for about the same price.

still too new to tell. stopped here for lunch last week. the building and ambiance itself is beautiful, and the waitstaff was very accommodating and friendly. lunch menu was quite limited. my beau had fried shrimp basket and i had fried fish basket. meal was good, but we both asked for cocktail sauce and got one little tiny container for the both of us, which is ridiculous, and i shouldn't have to ask for more, when common sense would be a container for each person. he had a beer, good/cold, i had a cocktail..they do not have agoodchoice of liquors yet..and i settled for something i really didn't want and of course..it was terrible. i let the waitress know and she brought me something else, and took the first drink off the bill, which i really didn't expect and was nice of them. all in all, it was agoodexperience. i will try them again for dinner and see if that menu is better. i never write off a place on the first visit unless it's horrid. i wish them well though, because the restaurant furnishings itself are totally exquisite. whoever designed it's décor and structure, has great taste.

very positive. i operate a restaurant in the neighborhood, and after trying boshamps i felt that they did a realgoodjob, alan phillips is a very well respected restauranteur in this community, looking forward to going back soon

good food, terrible ethics. ate here with the wife on 9 may. it was the last night of our trip to destin, fl. the food was good! our bill total was $63. i tipped $15 for a grand total of $78. i thought it was a bit high for just the two of us, but i did have two beers so maybe they brought up the price. when we got back to our condo i called my parents and told them about the restaurant. while i was on the phone i had my receipt in my hand. i noticed that i was charged $26 for fried chicken, which seemed high. i checked on boshamps website and the fried chicken was listed for $17. so i was overcharged by $9. without that $9 in my bill i would have tipped less also, so i really spent $11 more than i should have there. i immediately called boshamps and talked to the manager on duty (i forgot his name). he was aware of the screw up in the computer and took my name and receipt number (0232 on 9 may) to fix the bill. he told me that i would see another boshamps charge for the corrected amount. he also asked me to givegoodreviews to boshamps on the internet. i took him at his word and ended the call. i checked my credit card statement on the 15th (6 days later) and nothing had happened yet. i called again on the 15th. i talked to another manager. again, i did not record the name. gave him my receipt number, name and cell number. he assured me that he would take care of this and apologized. you would guess that the story would end here..., but it doesn't. nothing happened again. i called this last time on 17 may. i made sure to get a name this time. i talked to debbie, the receptionist/secretary and she told me that she would have one of the managers call me back. one of them did, norm, who left me a message and said that he credited my card. but still..., no credit for the $9. this isn't about the $9. this is about doing the right thing, charging the correct price. i will never eat at boshamps again. and i will post negative comments on boshamps facebook page and any other restaurant website i see. its very hard to get agoodname but very easy to get a bad one. boshamps is off to a bad start folks...

the food wasgoodbut after a 45 minute wait we were set out side in front of the live band. we complained immediately to the waitress about how load the music was, she said would ask the manager to have them turn music down. it got no better. i ask to speak to the manager and "he said we should ask to be move." but it would have been another 45 minute wait. i was very disappointed in such a nice place. the atmoshere was terrible!

both had snapper; it was excellent. crab claw appetizers wasgood(fried). loved this place! sat outside with no issues. friends had feta appetizer (nice pitas but too much garlic for me) and lobster mac and cheese (lots of lobster!)

great location,goodservice, but food just ok as for the price i paid i would have expected better quality. raw oysters very small, out of two dozen, all small, not onegoodone. 27$ platter included 3 shrimp, 3 oysters, and 3 fish fingers instead of a real fish filet. definitely not worth what i paid.

staff was very friendly. food wasgoodand fresh. they happily accommodated my nut allergy when i wanted an entree that normally comes with nuts. the view wasgoodand having a play area for kids is a big plus that pushed this from 3.5 to 4 stars.

the best part about boshamps is continuum playing on sunday's from 3:00pm - 6:00pm! they are amazing.

as for boshamps, the atmosphere isgoodbut the food is... well, i wouldn't return if continuum stopped playing! the last time i was here i got a dozen raw oysters, of which 4 of them were awful! this trip i got the macaroni and cheese and greens. the greens had so much seasoning that i could hardly choke them down with water. as far as the macaroni and cheese goes, i feel this is hard to mess up but low and behold, this mac is awful. tastes like they tried to use some fancy ages cheese which is rather not appealing.

the husband finally got agoodmeal! i let him pick the place tonight and it was a success! i had the lobster mac and cheese and it tasted fresh and homemade. it's way too much mac and cheese to eat in one sitting. it will be better shared! he had the blackened grouper and also the oysters. the squash casserole was also delicious. i had the pecan pie cheesecake and will eat what i didn't finish for breakfast! everything is very tasty and fresh. best meal yet for the beach trip this year.

we had an app of the corn and crab chowder, a dozen raw oysters, an entree of the lobster roll and lobster bites, a bloody mary and pain killer.
we ended up ordering a second dozen of oysters.
everything was delicious!
the chowder was the perfect mix of sweet and savory.
the raw oysters weregoodsized and have s flavor that requires no cocktail sauce/horseradish/etc. even though there was quite a few people seated at the same time, our oysters came out fast and cold.
the lobster roll was superb, definitely my suggestion.
the lobster bites were perfectly fried.
the tito's bloody mary with pickled shrimp has to be one of the best bloody mary's i've had.
great service, clean and beautiful atmosphere,goodsized menu, superb drinks and food.
i'm only upset i took us so long into our trip to find this place.

the service at boshamps was verygoodand the atmosphere was perfect for a laid back place to get some verygoodand very fresh seafood.

bad food. great atmosphere. we have tried this place four times now, only because we love the atmosphere. food is substandard. i am not one to take the time to write reviews, but i was motivated after our last visit. burgers had no flavor (zero). grease drippings is what you get if you ask for steak sauce. shrimp are agoodsize but always taste freezer burnt. the fish of the day taste like catfish not grouper (i would know because we catch our own). another tourist trap.
