i went to boomtown coffee on an early sunday afternoon with my girlfriend. we noticed that there was a big private parking lot across the street with some empty spaces; this is always a positive note for a houston business. as we walked towards the coffee shop, we observed that there was an outdoor patio area with a bunch of tables and chairs. unfortunately, as soon as i opened the front door, a blast of cigarette/cigar smell punched me in the face. it's very noticeable. their neighboring business, the heights cigar lounge, doesn't have a very effective ventilation system, and this definitely needs to be addressed.
this coffee shop is very spacious and has many chairs and tables to sit at. free wi-fi is provided as well. in the middle of the shop, there is a beautiful, giant blackboard with their coffee menu. this is the best part about boomtown; there's a variety of quality coffee to choose from. i went with the iced mayan mocha, and my girlfriend went with the chocolate toddy. these drinks were delicious, but we had to escape the smell and drink them outside on the patio. i would go with a 5-star rating, but i can't get ever how bad thisplacesmells.
