boo radley's

my fiance and i have been regulars at boo's for about four years.  i have nothing bad to say about the food. i will never return to this place again however, based on the way i was treated over the phone today be a male staff member (or perhaps the owner himself.)  

the previous evening i went to boo's after work with friends.  being in a particularlygoodmood i left a $10.00 tip on two beers. today i noticed i have misplaced a pocket knife that i use at work.  i figured there was a chance it fell out of my bag at boos so today i called  to ask if anyone had found it.  a female answered and i told her i may have lost my pocketknife.  while she was looking into it the phone seemed to cut out..  i called back and a male answered.  i began to say it is possible i dropped my pocketknife if they find it maybe they could call me back. the man cut me off and snapped at me: "we don't have your knife, and we aren't calling you back." and then hung up on me!  wtf.

 in total both calls lasted about 15 seconds i was stunned. there was absolutely no reason to speak to me this way. i can only think of two males who work front of house, near the phone.  i was either speaking to their seemingly jovial bartender, or equally seemingly nice owner.    one of them just lost boo's two regular guests and earned a serious g.f.y. in this review.  and for no logical reason.   my only wish is i could take my $10 tip, crumple it up and flick it in the  face of whomever answered the phone.

a favourite watering hole.goodfood, owner and staff and they are great with kids. they have the best poutine! really yummy specials as well. great beer on tap.

some time ago we had lunch here and were surprised at the high prices charged for "just ok" pub fare. but things have taken a decided turn for the better.

we've been using the patio as an "office away from the home office" during this very hot summer. it's perfectly shaded and catches the breeze nicely, allowing us to enjoy the lazy, hazy crazy days o summer and still get work done (goodwireless and good, cold drinks).

as importantly, they've lowered their prices and the food quality has improved. excellent steak sandwich, verygoodburger, and a nice range of appetizers. the pizza (served after 5 pm) looks great, as does the fish and chips (btw, just had some outstanding fries with a steak sammy today). both are on our "boo to do" list.
