great beach bar with a great view and some good live music. we went to enjoy a drink at the bar and watch the sunset. we did order some artichoke dip and chips which was very tasty. our server was nice and friendly. price and quality was very fair. we had a great time and look forward in going back. would recommend.

hotel food through and through, though dining with your feet in the sand is always a mark in the plus column. on both our visits to bongos, our service was terrific, though the uninspired and clunky, junky food needs a massive infusion of finesse and authenticity. haddock instead of local group features heavily, and both shrimp and fish tacos are weighed down by cheddar cheese. the "cuban" nachos were laden with more cheddar plus white rice (?) and the wings were coated in a thick, saccharine-sweet bbq sauce. this is a site that could stand to raise its culinary game just a hair and it would become king of the beach.

pricey, but the view is amazing. you can sit directly on the beach with your toes in the sand. the fish tacos were pretty good. the view makes the place worth it.

great beach seating. good service. the trio of scallops, shrimp, and the fish dip was really good. the shrimp was big and plump, the scallops perfectly cooked and the dip was super smooth. the cuban was huge and done just right. i really like the coleslaw because it had pineapple in it. the special was jalapeño fritter sliders with strawberry jelly. it was such an interesting combination and the cream cheese in the fritters made it taste decadent. the fries were super crispy too.

terrible service, mediocre fish tacos (not much fish) my wife liked her house salad. she said the prawns were huge but there was no dressing. the bongo's kool-aid was lame, the ss bam shooters were pathetic. the service was painfully slow. this was our first meal in st pete's i hope it gets better. do not go here unless you are on the beach and need a beer.

food and atmosphere is fantastic, right on the beach, couldn't have asked for anything better!

music was... subpar. and there is nothing at all gluten-free. but still an excellent place to grab dinner.

best on the beach. i live here six months a year and am familiar with lots of the beach bars in st. pete beach. it's good, really good. live music, good food and service, yummy drinks and more (how about that beach?) are reasons we keep coming back to bongos.

what a pleasant surprise!. friends of ours were in town this week and stayed on treasure island. we met them at their hotel and decided to try bongobongos beach bar & grille. we instantly fell in love with the atmosphere, ambiance and location on the beach! the staff is very attentive and friendly and we had our cocktails within minutes of ordering them. we decided to try several of the appetizers and shared them around the table. the flavors were delicious and the presentation even more beautiful!!! we had such a wonderful all around experience, we are going back again tonight!!!! :)

this was my second visit, and i actually made it a point to come back. beautiful views, great service, good fish and chips, coconut crusted mahi mahi and adequate kids burger and kids chicken fingers.

service was a little slow, but any request was promptly complied with...the server didn't come around often, and seemed more interested in socializing with the other servers. fish and chips was ok, kids cheeseburgers were over cooked to the point of being inedible. might go back because of views and location only....

dinner in the sand!. a group of us (six people) were looking to have dinner on the beach – and this is the place to do it! very low key and laid back/feet in the sand type of place. unfortunately it was a little windy/chilly – but it was a great spot! menu had a little bit of everything, but service was great and prices were right! would definitely return!

great food & atmosphere. we came here late night for dinner, and i am pretty sure everyone is sad we never made it back on our trip! the food was delicious and there are tons of options for frozen and mixed drinks! i had the fish tacos and it had the freshest pico i have tasted in a while! i loved it! our server was great and the atmosphere is lively! the best part you can sit directly on the sandy beach!
