update: october 2015. much improved service. excellent and moist fish, fresh crispy veggies, and a wonderful quick seared tuna appetizer rolled in sesame. definitely better.
everybody, just calm down.. geez, there is a lot of buzz about bonefish grill off nevada. everyone is jabbering about how awesome thisplaceis. in reality, not so much. sure, it has a hip vibe inside, with an elegant, but industrial decor. the clientele are a mixed bag of all the city's demographics, which is cool. but after some honest introspection, one realizes that this restaurant has a ways to go still, especially given the prices they charge. first, the high points. my wife's fish, the alaskan halibut, was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. she loved the garbanzo bean side, sautéed with spicy sausage and fresh tomatoes. my potato au gratin side dish was also wonderful, rich, and with just the right tang from the sharp cheese. i loved it. there were some areas needing considerable improvement. the shrimp appetizer was not fresh. it was freshly made, but the shrimp had an iodine taste, meaning they were not fresh. i eat shrimp frequently, and both my daughter and i were taken back by that distinctive odor and taste. my wife said she could not detect it, but after one bite, my eight year old was the first to point it out to us. next, i had the larger portion of the alaskan halibut that my wife got for her meal. for about five bucks more, one can get around 2-3 ounces more fish. my piece was seasoned well, with a nice charbroiled flavor and a side of chimichurri sauce. the fish was slightly overcooked, dry on the edges, and not as juicy as the small piece i sampled from my wife's plate to compare. the server told us they automatically cook the fish to medium well. really? i would have liked to have known that at the beginning of the meal so i had the option of adjusting the order to better suit my preferences. no matter what, given the theme of this restaurant, the fish should have been the star of the meal. it was not. the chimichurri sauce was oily, not herbaceous or savory at all. it really needs some work. i was not a fan of the garbanzo bean side, as i found it to be rather pedestrian, a cheap variation, too raw with bits of the chickpea skin still in tact, and simply not that tasty. the service was vacant at times, and our food took a long time to be served, while others who were sat after us were served ahead of us. the only reason i bring that up is to determine if somehow our order sat under a heat lamp for a while and that could be why my fish was so dry. my daughter's fish and chip was perfectly cooked codfish, with a fair side of fries. the waitress took a long while to bring her some malt vinegar, but she enjoyed her meal, eventually. still, bonefish grill has tremendous potential once they focus on the refinement to match both their considerably vaunted self-image, and their hefty price list. if they manage not to get too full of themselves, pay attention to their primary product--the quality fish dishes--and treat all their customers well, they will continue their current success. in the mean time, everyone needs to take a deep breath, settle down about the hype on this place, and keep it real. they're good, just not quite that good.

had to change my opinion from a review dated in july of 2010. went there last saturday at 8pm and despite no line it took 15 minutes to be seated then over an hour for them to complete the service. food was mediocre and they couldn't get the order right. dim lighting and awful background music playing. took thisplaceoff my list.

surprisingly thisplaceexceeded expectations. we truly enjoyed the food and atmosphere, had great service and reasonable prices. not bad for a chain and amazing that it does well in louisiana where you can't fool people about seafood.

came here for dinner with a bogo offer. theplacewas spacious and the staff was attentive and friendly. we were seated quickly and our food was served in a timely manner. the black cod was well prepared, and cooked just right. the salmon was also cooked just right, and we were surprised by a hint of sweetness to it.

dined jan 1 2016 to celebrate new year. we have eaten here many times with mixed results, mostly good but a few not so good. usually to only for special dinner since prices are a bit high. theplaceis a bit noisy when full. we love seafood so always looking for the best place.

out of many items due to delivery truck issue?? no bread, ordered iced tea for beverage, glass had what looked to be dried blood on the rim...pretty revolting and wait staff just swapped out glass and figured all was fine. ordered the pot stickers for appetizer, came out cold and undercooked had to send back and waited a long time to get replacement. entree was ok at best, shrimp and scallops for me sea bass for the wife, vegetables were overcooked and plating was sloppy.  au gratin potatoes tasted like something out of a betty crocker box from the grocery store. service was ok but waiter seemed to disappear for extended periods of time, maybe smoke breaks.

manager not made aware of blood on the glass issue until we were about to leave and wanted to bring to his attention which was disappointing. got a few free appetizer cards to try to appease our bad experience but will not use them because will not go back. maybe the a-team cooking staff was off due to holiday, sure seemed that way.

really good food - inconsistent service. bonefish does a very good job with their food. everything is so well done. the bang bang shrimp is the best around. so good. the fish is always flavorful and juicy. even the fresh basil fettuccine was well done. i really like the food here.

the decor is pretty. the outdoor waiting area is comfortable with cushioned seating. the service is spotty. if you get put by the kitchen, you will not hear yourself talk. if you are in the main room at peak time, it's loud. the bestplaceare the side areas or back room. i have had spectacular severs, but i also have had some issues.

meh +. i was thinking this would be a pretty goodplaceto get some food. it was ok, but not out of the ballpark. just seemed for the money we could have easily made everything at home better and much cheaper.

bang bang shimp for an appetizer was tasty, but the breading was a tad underdone. my girlfriend makes a version of this that is spectacular. this however was ok.

the meals were not terrible. i had the kobe beef burger, which i knew before ordering it probably wasn't really kobe not only due to the price, but just from having read about all the hype. it was a good burger, but i've had better. the house made chips on the other hand were really good.

my girlfriend ordered the trout which they were out of and after a long while they announced it and had her order something else. she got the fish and chips and really they were not that great. it looked fantastic, but she said it tasted a bit like cardboard (possibly the paper wrap it was laying on) and had an odd texture. the tarter sauce though was amazing. lol

so i dunno.. just seemed for the money we have had much better. guess we need to go and spend even more money to get something that really pops. will we be back? not really sure, but we weren't that impressed.

probably the best seafood you'll find in the springs. i've been to bonefish grill twice now, both for special occasions. this is aplacethat you would probably come for a special occasion because the prices tend to get higher and higher the deeper you get into a meal. the fish i've got both times have been the trout and the salmon. i love my fatty fish, i just realize that i usually like it more when it's been smoked. i felt that the fish size for the trout was well worth the money. the fish size for the salmon was borderline inexcusable. the service has been spotty both times i've been here, mainly with long wait times between telling the waiter what you want and actually getting it. both times made it sound like the bread they were going to bring to your table was a favor they were going to do for you instead of a restaurant policy. whatever. the sides served with each entree all seem to be very healthy, but for those of us who require an american size car to go along with our american size butt, then you're going to be gnawing on the plate after you've completed your entree. but fear not, dessert is right around the corner. well, a bit of a mixed bag there as well, as the key lime pie i got my first time around was excellent (but probably pre-made in a factory) and the peanut butter jelly bread pudding the second time around (my wife's pick, she loves it) left me yawning at the end. you'd think something as unique as that would've had me shouting from the rooftops. you'd be wrong. oh well, i'm sure i'll be back.

thisplacewas great and i don't even care for fish that much. you definitely want to have a reservation. the service was impeccable and prompt. every bit of food was unbelievable from the bread through to the jamaican coconut pie. i almost embarrassed myself by licking my empty plate. i think this has to be the best food in colorado springs.

bonefish=great fishplacethe atmosphere was wonderful. we just moved from ar and we were very impressed with the quality of the food. my boyfriend ordered stuffed fish but didn't realize that he didn't like capers. don came to the table to speak directly to us and took care of it even after we told our waitress it was fine. the fish was delicious but it's the service that will definitely bring us back. would recommend to anyone!
