although had a fabulousmealand service in the restaurant, will never go back to this location because of the terrible valet service. three times i was asked the make and model of my vehicle and after the third time was told to ‘calm down’ by the lead (bald caucasian made with dark glasses) valet. although the one who found my vehicle was very nice and refused the ‘tip’. upon arriving home i realize they still had my house keys and had to drive back at which point i was again berated my the lead valet who indicated he was fully aware they were in possession of the non-vehicle keys) kept them, requiring a return trip. what kind of establishment allows this kind of treatment of its customers?

we went on a thursday evening and got right in. we were promptly seated and our drink orders were taken efficiently. after 10 minutes we finally received them. we ordered water as well and that didn’t come until themealdid. our salads were passable—the lettuce wasn’t as cold and crisp as it should have been, given the price point for this establishment. i ordered the chops and my wife had the bone in sirloin. my chops were done perfectly and the sirloin was spot on. some of the sides could have been hotter.
overall, it was acceptable but given the cost, i was underwhelmed. kirby’s is a better choice.

we came here for a celebratory dinner and bob's did not disappoint. the glazed carrot and pickled peppers on the table were the highlights for me. they are small touches that makes bob's special. you obviously need to order steak and i recommend the skillet fried potatoes as a side. my only complaint is against zomato! the average cost for 2 people is way off. my husband and i had a glass of wine each(house wine), an appetizer and steaks with no dessert or extra sides and our tab was very close to $150. themealwas definitely worth the price but i felt mislead by this website.

it was an amazing day in grapvine – ice at the gaylord, main street, and now bob’s chop house!

om: i have only been to bob’s chop house once, and it was the dallas location years ago. first off, this place was beautifully decorated for christmas, and i would go so far to say that this is the most wonderful i’ve seen a restaurant around this time of year. garland, ornaments, and lights everywhere! the bread was a large round loaf with plain butter, which is fine with me. we also ordered three onion rings – the waitress gave us an option to order as many as we wanted and just charge us per ring. cool! they were very good, had crunchy batter and good taste. maybe top 3 that i’ve had? i also tried some beef soup which was outstanding. it’s like someone slow roasted rib meat and added that to bean soup. my main course was a filet, chips, and their famous glazed carrot. the filet was a little tough, i’ve had better, but it was still tasty. if i could order 20 glazed carrots and make that mymeali would, yummy. the chips were not totally chips…maybe a little thicker? doesn’t matter, they were awesome. there is one thing that almost ruined the night, and that was the table about 15 feet away from us. it was a bunch of mid-40 looking guys clearly reliving the past. drinking, loud cursing, and no regard for those sitting in the area. management seemed hesitant to do anything about it, which was very disappointing. our waitress took everything in stride and was solid the entire night. anyhoo, the food was above average but not excellent, but the décor was something to see. i would go back around the holidays, but would be open to trying other similar restaurants during the non-christmas season.

nom: i have never been to a bob’s chop house before my handsome love took us at christmas! they had really gone all out decorating the restaurant! absolutely beautiful!! i always give our favorite italian place props at the holiday but holy cow!!! this was amazing…even if you don’t just love steak find a reason to check them out! we started with bread and it was just your standard bread and butter, which i really like! we also ordered three, yes you can by their onion rings individually, onion rings which were really good. they are the thick coated huge variety! my handsome love had some beef barely soup instead of a salad and it was very tasty! i could have eaten a bowl of soup and a few onion rings and been satisfied! i had the ribeye steak and i always expect it to be well marbled and kind of fatty, which is what i like in steak, but this one was super lean for a ribeye. it was very flavorful but not as tender as i would have liked for sure. still it was tasty and our waitress was super nice and helpful. i have to add that she was quite the trooper…she had to serve what i call “glory days”. you know…boys night out. drunk, loud and entertaining for about 20 minutes until that fateful moment you hear one of them talking about how happy their wife is…aside from glory days the restaurant was really something to see. oh and when you go make sure you try the fruit sours on your way out!

bob's definitely serves one of the best steaks in dallas and has a great atmosphere for a nice evening out. we started with an old fashioned and a cosmopolitan from the bar, both of which were fresh and fabulous. the french onion soup and wedge salad were a delicious start to ourmealand the maryland style crab cake with honey mustard sauce was perfectly crispy with a touch of sweetness. oddly enough, the prime ribeye looked and tasted much more like a ny strip but our waitress swore it was a ribeye and it was still one of the best steaks we've ever had so we enjoyed it regardless. sadly, we were too full for dessert but i'd love to go back and try the brownie sundae. overall a great evening and i definitely plan to go back!

not a fan. bob's has all the right "ingredients" of a great steakhouse- the valet out front, the flock of personal waiters/busboys, a schmoozy crowd, and the best cuts of meat (no pun intended). but no expensivemealcan feel "worth it" without two things- personality and personalization. personality- dear bob, you need one. even steak and potatoes can be memorable. personalization- when the time between placing my order and receiving my food is faster than humanly possible, i have to wonder where it came from.

valentines day don't. you would think we would learn. we went to bob's steak and chop house in grapevine last year to celebrate valentine's day. and it was a miserable disappointment. we tried again last week, thinking we just had a bad experience. well, nothing has changed. service is spotty, pedestrian at best, and ourmealwas again easily one of the worst we have endured; same results as last time, over cooked salmon and just passable steak. sorry guys, fool me twice shame on me. we won't do a third time. valentines day is a cluster feed, and there are too many good restaurants in north texas to waste this kind of effort.

disappointing.. we went to bob's steak and chop house in grapevine to celebrate valentine's day. ourmealwas easily one of the worst we have endured; over cooked salmon, slimy "grilled" vegetables, tasteless broccoli and cold bread pudding as slimy as the vegetables. i know bob's is a "steak house" and that valentine's day is a cluster feed, but i expected much more from a place that claims to be one of "america's best." there are too many fine restaurants in north texas to endure this kind of pedestrian performance.

big price big food. this place serves mostly prime meat and the price of the place is very high. 5 people and the bill came to $350.00 with tip and no booze. i had the kc strip bone in prime. since i had to watch my carbs no potato and no glazed carrot. no one really said the potato and carrot was outstanding. i also had a salad with blue cheese dressing and asparagus as my side. these were all outstanding. our waiter bryan t was good fast and efficient. if i was rating this place on the steak alone it was perhaps the 3rd best steak i have had. cooked to perfection and had the nutty taste prime beef gives you.

my wife pointed out that it was about 90% male eating here. so this is one of those places where you go for a power supper and the company pays. it also has a cigar bar. now get this i smoke cigars and found that the cigar smoke was somehow coming out of the glassed in area and to the food area. not a good flavor mix. put a bit of a damper on themealfor me. cigars and great food mix but not when you are eating the great food.

top notch for that special occasion. i've been to bob's on several occasions, generally birthday parties, anniversaries and the like. everything is impressive. the waitstaff is attentive and their menu suggestions are never disappointing. the steak is perfectly cooked, the smothered skillet potatoes are a heart-stopper-and will be the death of me. this is one of those side dishes i'd request as my lastmealon earth! the first time i ate here, i thought, "what's up with the carrot?" but it works. my only complaint is they tend to "rush" you through the meal. i know they have to serve alot of people to cover their overhead, but perhaps they should consider opening on sundays to serve more people instead of rushing guests through like a herd of cattle.

food was fine. same as all good steakhouses. atmosphere rating is poor due to the noise and cigarette and cigar smoke. it is ridiculous that one spend that much on amealand have to eat it in an atmosphere similar to a low rent vegas casino floor. my wife are new to the area and looking for quality restaurants. we won't return to bob's until the smoke is gone. jeff willi

money & calories to burn!!!. i've been to this bob's 6 times in my life. everymealhas been outstanding. i get the chops with the applesauce, glazed carrot (where do they get these huge carrots?), and the smashed potatoes. the chops are perfect. there are no "low calorie" meals, so be ready to get a full meal. prices for the food are right where they should be for quality, quantity, and service. the wine list is awesome, though a little pricey. service is friendly and efficient. they are always busy, so if they are shorthanded, be prepared to have a little wait. i suggest you always make a reservation, as walk-ins are going to wait, upwards of an hour. i'm told this is one of the hangouts for some of the dallas power players (i have no idea who), so they don't rotate tables as fast here as in other places. the restaurant is small, and they have jammed a table into every inch of the place, so its crowded, and noisy. we've always gone on a fri or sat, but i understand that week nights are not as much of a madhouse. i kind of like all the commotion, but my wife hates it (she loves the food, however), so we just eat here on special occasions. they do have valet parking which is usually pretty convenient, except when its a packed house. i think if you go in knowing all these things, you can have a really enjoyable meal, and the quality is always top-notch. are there better steak houses in dallas? all things considered, you bet, but everyone should try bob's at least once.

never again. my most recent birthday dinner was scheduled at bob's. reservations were made, but the person taking the reservations neglected to mention that every single stupid tourist retard from oklahoma would be in town for "texas ou weekend" as they are every year, and they would all be in bob's.

the place was packed, even with reservations we had to wait standing up, shoulder to shoulder, with every wannabe cowboy in the place for 20 minutes. very loud. very uncomfortable. when we were finally seated, i was seated in the aisle, i literally could not hear my wife who was (2 feet across from me) due to the din from all the okie trash.

when the waitress got around to us, she was basically laughing and trying to keep her spirits up but i was not in the mood at this point and she added to my rage. we sent her off to get water or whatever, then i did my best basketball guard stance with elbows out, aggressive, as we plowed through the hicks trying to make it out the front door which was still somehow letting a constant stream of people in the already super packed building.

i had a lot of fun calling the fire department on that glorified waffle house.

never again, bob's, there are just too many steakhouses in dallas for me to put up with treatment like that. we ended up going to "the silver fox" which is just around the corner. themealwas excellent, as was the service and atmosphere. bob, you can shove your "signature carrots" up your rump roast.
