don't bother. my wife and i had been hearing about bob's on a local sports radio station for a long time, so we decided it was time to visit, as we live very near this restaurant. we looked it up on the internet, and made sure we were dressed right and made a reservation.
we got there a little early, so we opted to have a cocktail in the bar. we assumed we would be called when it was time for us to be seated. after 45 minutes, my wife went and asked to be seated. no problem. within 30 seconds, our server appeared and asked if we were ready to order. we hadn't even opened the menu. we made our choices and the fried calamari was excellent. hot bread and butter--you can't go wrong there. but after that...everything did go wrong. my wife's steak, ordered rare, was ice cold in the center, and my steak, a small ribeye, ordered medium, was just all over the place. not only cooked incorrectly, but the quality of the meat was that of a cheap grocery store. it was just a hot mess. my wife's steak was taken back by the manager to "warm it up". ???? not a good sign. the potatoes with the black pepper gravy looked and tasted bland--it looked like beige vomit. the only good thing on both of our plates was the carrot! we ended up just packing everything up and taking it home in hopes that when we re-visited our to go containers, it would be better.....not. the server was pushy, then aloof, and the manager even more. plus, we had dressed up for this night on the town, but the rest of the crowd seemed to be extremely casual....i am talking t-shirts and shorts! we felt over dressed and just wanted out of there.
the price of our dinner and drinks was over $150 and for that kind of money, we should have gone to ruth's chris, del frisco's, or even saltgrass!
it may have been the head chef's night off, but this was a friday night. but, this place is high touted and there is no excuse for this kind of poor execution of food. thumbs down for the grapevine location.
