it was a big fat order on a mid-week party day. but even for a mid-week it was really full and the place was small so we didn’t get the reclining seats. almost everyone seemed to have come around the same time. the ambience was decent and the music loud so it was very tough to have conversation. there wasn’t any dance floor as such and i guess they don’t permit stags, the usual template few pubs follow. trend is changing now but still not completely changed.
whining apart. here goes the food and drinks experience in alphabetical order…
bade ka boti – beef dish which lookedgreaton the outside. masala was flavorful but pieces were chewy.
boats old fashioned – good old-fashioned cocktail, slightly sweeter to my liking.
boats tandoori platter – probably the best thing that we did. as we were four and nothing had more than five pieces we chose to go for platter. we got reasonable food there and the dishes in there tasted better than the standalone dishes. so, if you’re going as a group, take a cue and go for platter.
caipiroska – reasonably good, didn’t get the lemon flavor as much i wanted.
cosmopolitan – again reasonably good.
crispy calamari – tasted really well, may be the dish of the night but quantity was really less.
daiquiri – strong and done well, good orangish flavor.
dirty martini – didn’t work at all, olives were so small and was too inside the drink. clear bummer.
guavaberry martini – tasted nice and sweet.
long island iced tea – didn’t work. was getting only tea flavor, that too very less flavor. should have experienced more of other flavors too.
mint julep – so so.
pina colada – didn’t feel real. all we could taste was monin.
rob roy – job well done.
tandoori hariyali jingha – it was terrific but sadly the same story, we could get only one piece per head.
titanic – nothing special, just felt like plain old liquor. biggest bummer of all.
whisky sour – was more sweet than sour so didn’t like.
i guess we drank one drink too many and they close too soon too. thus, wasn’t agreatexperience.
