situated right opposite the beach. separate zones for smoking and non smoking. good music and good music. what else?😀

the assorted chicken platter was nice. tender and flavourful. the nachos were also great. 👍🏼

average restaurant. good ambience and great view of ocean (but can only be seen from smoking area). drinks were also good. but food is not so great. nachos are good to order but other orders were too greasy, too spicy and did not have enough flavor. in total it was an average place, probably will not go again.

this place was there on the checklist for a longer time and here it is ticked off ✅ one sucha place in the city with the splendid sea view nd a good ambience and music . it would b a sin if i don’t mention the waiters here . oh boy !!! they’re so humble , attentive , smiling and were so helpful and ready . they hav a huge respect for the customers . great training bruh 🤟🏻 this is a very friendly ambience, good interiors , fab music and food with rocking view and drinks to go with 🍻 the bon chon chicken was lil hard to chew . the cocktail was a perfect kick and so as the beer . great for a quick booze 👍🏻🍻🎊

after hearing a lot about this place on zomato we visited this place for dinner.i really don't understand what is the fuzz about this place.i tried calling the restaurant for reservation.but they said they have first come first served policy.we waited for almost 45 minutes before getting in.they have both food and alcohol.but their food menu is very limited and tastes way below average.drinks are good but not worth the hype.we ordered two cocktails they were okay.for starters we tried nachos tasted average.for main course we tried stuffed paneer steak and roast chicken with peri peri mash.their roast chicken was worst dish i ever had.they even managed mess up the peri peri mash that came along with it.really disappointed.👎🏻

nice place for dining and drink. location is good, near to besent nagar beach. less spacious so sometime waiting time for table. overall should visit attests once.

perfect is a word ❤️ the only restore bar with a perfect beach view inside the city. reasonable and good food with a different varieties of combos. music + beach view + good food what else you guys need 😍

based on a true story – boats
my true story – a pack of four (moi cousins) visited boats four days before new year on a saturday evening @5pm. even though i live in besant nagar, this was my first time entering boats. each personnel must show their id proof before entering. there used to be a restaurant in this place “login” which got shut down and then came boats.

we booked a table for four beforehand. ambience was normal. we ordered few drinks and food. we ordered:

food:
• nachos
• chicken sausages and potato skewers
• veg arrabbiata pasta

drinks:
• bacardi black rum
• ballantine's whisky
• old monk rum
• orange sunshine cocktail

let start with the food. firstly nachos – topped with beans and melted cheese. yes beans, it my first time too. nachos were normal. chicken sausages and potato skewers – was ok. nothing great. pasta arrabbiata was vegetarian – was also ok for me. nothing special. overall all three dishes were ok.

music was way too loud. i need to raise my voice high to speak to the person next to me. really way too loud. i was kind of irritated.

service was horrible. i need to remind the person three times to make sure that i have ordered drinks. this happened each time when i called the guy for our next round. i really didn’t like the service.

that day after 7pm they had buy one and get one offer on domestic drinks. but i’m not sure that they still have it. suddenly a guy came in and informed us about it.
they have an outside setup for people who do hookah and wants to smoke.

suggestions:
• music was way too loud. a mild music would be good and pleasant. people are coming in for few drinks and conversations.
• service can be improvised.
• food can be better.

i would start with saying that “you need to learn how to deal with the customers.”
me and my friend reached there at 7pm, asked the owner for a table for 8 people.the owner or the manager (not sure though) asked me to wait as there was no table for a large group at that time.
he made us wait and wait and wait. i was noticing all the other small groups were being asked to enter. on being asked why we 8 are not being given the table, he informed that no table is vacant yet.
at the end of an hour waiting , we understood that he doesn’t want this big group to enter. because it’s a simple logic: “if no big tables are there, then please add the small tables to make a big one “
this logic is what is also used in other restaurants.
the owner was so rude and started blaming us that he already informed earlier that there was no space.
stupid is what i felt about myself for believing the owner(or manager) and wasting my time standing there for the entry..
however good the food is or the ambience is , if the hospitality is not good, it doesn’t make any sense then.i would never ever recommend boats to anyone not only to my chennai friends but also make sure that my bangalore friends also know about this.

1. the drinks were amazing. we hathe cocktails were made very well, with really fresh ingredients (pineacolada and morning glory )

2. the starter was perfect to go with the drinks.especially the chef make the lobster spicy. because of our special request. it's amazing.

3. who took the order from us even suggested dishes ( lobster) based on what we were looking for it was amazing to get such a knowledgable yet humble approach to picking out a dish. it's rare to find this in a place.


4. the staff are prompt and polite and courteous.
experienced and excellent food explanations.

5. now here's where this place stands in a league of its own probably some of the best food we've had in a very very long time, from restobar around the chennai the food is cooked the perfection and i strongly suggest consenting with the staff on what to have, based on what you're in the mood to have.

6. the portions are just right, and the taste is brilliant.

we'll be back here very soon, and would surely recommend the place to anyone! keep it up guys. cheers!

great place to catch up with friends over a mug of beer and awesome food. we tried the chicken wings and chicken lollipop which were good.
if you are looking for a quite place to sip your beer and enjoy the silence, then this is definitely not the place. the ambience is good and it gives out a happy cheerful vibe, though it can get crowded and noisy on weekends. prior reservation is a must on weekends.

p.s. : look out for the live performances on weekends.

the place is nice but the quality of food is pathetic and extremely overpriced. bad experience. didn't like the food at all. won't recommend this place.

probably the most relaxed place to unwind post work along the beach. must try the lemon cheese chilli nuggets and their nachos. thanks for all the hospitality, my crew and i always have a great end to a tiring day.

coming after a long time since the opening of based on a true story (boats). such a stylish ambiance, lunch with my friend on a sunday afternoon, was a great experience. domestic and imported liquors available. food was just above my expectations, because many people who have here had a complaint about the food. but i didnt find any chicken skewers with honey and thyme and spinach corn balls was the starters for our drinks.. i had one of the best chicken skewers here. a definite place to be with our loved once or friends who plans for a chill and relax restobar. boats is the place..

the fun we had with drinks and food was spoiler by staff constant nudging of staff after 10:30. they made us gulp our glass of cocktail as soon as clock ticked 10:30 and by 10:45 we were asked to finish our food as it was a hostel. restaurant staff came to us 7 times to remind us to finish our food.

do try out their shooters, its really amazing. and no doubt the location is good. i think this is the closest place from the beach where you have access to chilled beer.
