a wonderful experience.. everything on the menu looked delicious,we chose to have a musssel clam appie and the dungeness crab entree with creme brulee dessert. the wine was agreatmatch and mike our waiter made our evening very enjoyable. if you are ever in victoria i would strongly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

my husband and i enjoyed a delicious dinner there last night. the crab dinner was huge, and i brought half home to eat tonight. creme brûlée is wonderful, as is the croissant bread pudding. the risotto is rich and creamy and perfect! expensive, but you get what you pay for, fresh ingredients, delicious food, attentive and friendly service, and agreatview. i highly recommend this place.

we missed our reservation by 24 hours! can you imagine, we had the wrong day but after phoning to apologize for our mistake they found an early dinner time that we could make and my birthday dinner was saved. thanks chris who made that happen. our waiter mike was great, here when we needed him but otherwise in the background. we had agreatview of the harbour and watched float planes land and harbour ferries travelling back and forth. our started was the crab cakes which were yummy and pretty too. i had crab risotto, perfectly done asparagus and peas with the crab. very enjoyable as i ate every last bite. my partner had the lamb, beautifully prepared to a medium rare and placed on a bed of colourful fall vegetables with an au jus drizzled around the plate. we shared the raspberry chocolate torte which is creamy in texture and very rich. a good dish to share easily between tow and probably between 3. greatfood,greatservice and fantastic view. we'll be back.

date night at blue crab. saturday night and the dining room was full so we ended up sitting in the lounge. it was confortable and we luckily got a window seat which was fantastic because the view is spectacular. to eat, we ended up sharing the 3 course dungeness crab feast with denman island oysters to start. also had an a la carte ceasar salad with pancetta. to drink, negroni and martini with a bottle of kindle merlot. all the seafood was super fresh and crab cooked perfectly. blue crab rissoto hadgreatconsistency. denman island oysters among my favourite and these were well shucked. ceasar salad was best ive had in a long time. romaine super fresh and dressed so you could still taste lettuce with a perfectly balanced flavour. when the bill came it was a pleasant surprise actually :) everything was very good but what makes this a 5 star rating had to be the service. our waiter was awesome. so thanks for making our date night a big success and we'll be back.

the setting was nice,greatview of the water.  the server was attentive, yet discreet.  we had wild mushroom soup, artichoke dip to share, salmon, striploin, beef rib and soft-shell crab.  not much fault in any of the dishes, but nothing to get too excited either.  my hubby enjoyed his dessert - the croissant pudding.  

on your 'birth' month, you get a free entree.  so that would be a good time to go.

we went to the blue crab seafood house for crab fest and had an absolutely magnificent dinner - and it was exactly what we were looking for.  i looked online at the crabfest menu and saw that you could order three types of different crab and it's served on a wooden board with crackers and butter - perfect! we started with the crab bisque and the clam chowder. i took a taste of the chowder first and thought i'd be disappointed with the bisque but i was not! they were both very good but the bisque was excellent. delicious. then we had a pound of alaskan king crab. absolutely divine! it was perfect and exactly enough. their house red wine was excellent as well. the view wasgreatand we enjoyed watching the traffic to and from the boats below.

so far both times i've been there, i've had agreatdining experience! the servers are efficient and courteous - our water glasses are always full! the first time around we went when they had their $35, $45, $55 set menus - those were delicious and agreatdeal! the second we went it was during oyster fest. sadly no set dinner pricing so it ended up being a pricey dinner - butgreatseafood all the same!  there is a lovely view of the harbour so it's agreatplace to dine on special occasions. plus, complimentary underground hotel parking so you don't have to worry about finding a spot on the street. i will be going back here for sure!

dine around-lovely. had a very nice meal during this year's dine around at the blue crab. the service was great. quality of food very nice! i expected more from my chocolate lover's dessert, but it was ok.greatvalue for $30. the view was outstanding. this restaurant never disappoints.

my wife and i came in from portland, oregon on a mini vacation.
on fathers day... we wanted to go somewhere very special and because of the reviews on trip advisor... we thought this was the place...not really!
it does have agreatharbor view, but other than that it brought very little to the table.
it is in the coast hotel, which looks like a nice hotel. but this restaurant was just a very typical hotel dining room.
here is a list of our experience, and believe me i am not a whiner!
1) my seat had bread crumbs all over it.
2) martini was warm
3) wine pour was small & very expensive
4) bread was cold (nice places at least warm the bread)
5) service was slow, but did get a little better
6) very noisy
the food was okay to good, but so many other obstacles turned us off...
i will go spend my very hard earned american after tax dollars... elsewhere!

it's a seafood restaurant, after all. dinner for 4 last night with no rain and therefore agreatview of the float plane action. oyster starter was very yummy - not the best i've had but very good. creamy sauce, fennel undertones on the spinach, plump moist oysters.

i had the scallops as a main and it was great. what didn't seem like a big portion totally filled me up. i believe they were baked with prosciutto, which gave them a salty/sweet caramel crunch and yet were not overcooked. came along with a few (small) prawns which were pretty tasteless and a lobster ratatouille which was way better than expected - could taste the lobster amidst a salty butter sauce. would definitely have it again. house chardonnay was too sweet for my tastes - my bad for not making my own choice.

husband had the new york steak and he said it was just ok. cooked perfectly to order and good flavour in the meat but the brown sauce was not to his liking.

mother-in-law had caesar salad to start which she seemed to enjoy and i was lusting after (nice large flakes of parmesan and a prosciutto crouton) and the steak sandwich as main. sandwich was well-done to her taste (sigh) and she seemed to enjoy it but... wouldn't be my choice to have a steak sandwich and fries here.

father-in-law had greens salad (ok) and the boneless slow-cooked ribs. huge portion (i was jealous) which he thoroughly enjoyed along with a guinness. he did say that it was missing an acid to cut through the intense meat but nothing was left on his plate!

great service,greatview, good food, yummy seafood. i have a good feeling when i think about this place and haven't had a bad experience yet.

will be back.

greatgreatfood!!. we've been going for our anniversary for quite a number of years now, friendly staff, very attentive, especially michael, he's always served us, very polite. the menu changes everytime we come back which is nice, the food isgreatwhatever you get, for desert the creme brule is fantastic, three little cups filled with creme brule, could be shared but they are too good to share with anyone ;)

halibut is good. had the halibut and chips - which was good.greatfriendly service and good selection of wine. i recommend.

great food,greatview. we've gone to blue crab a few times now, and it's my go to place when i have family visiting the city. very professional servers, they definitely know their wines. i'd recommend going when you'll get a sunset over the harbor during the middle of your meal. the desserts were to die for.
