great bread, but pricey.. i've been to blue baker several times at both locations and can't recall being dissappointed. and with them making thebread& dough... it is really what makes this place so good. the pizzas are on the thin side compared to the deep dish style i usually like, but good none the less. the sandwiches are great, but vary in size on every visit and location (seems like the dominik location's sandwiches are on avg bigger than the university location). the cookies, brownies and pastries are great too. they also have soups in homemadebreadbowls and salads which are good also. and the home made breads everyday.... mmm. (especially shiner sunday, when they make the shiner bock bread... pick up some, and take it home and attack it with some butter.... yum)
now comes the bad part, the price. the artisan breads and premium ingredients taste great... but almost $10 for what is basically equates to 6"-8" sandwich at other sandwich places (subway, quiznos, or firehouse subs), drink, chips, and a cookie/apple is a little pricey.
so in conclusion, if your looking for something light, non-franchise, with its unique spin on baking & sandwiches... be sure to check it out. but if your looking for a filling cheap sandwich, might check out one of the other places with the cheap combo's and leave this one as the occasional stop when you have time to savor their hard work... 8.5/10
