i ate dinner there during queens feast week. about blt steakhouse: the place is gorgeous, of course. it is the ritz. the staff - from door to door, start to finish, regardless of responsibility or duty was impeccable. well-behaved, well-informed, well-groomed, well-mannered - perfect. our food was tasty and presented and prepared in a most delightful way. i am not too big on sweets but the very best tasting thing to me was the espresso treat at the end of the meal - it was just that good. we had the time to develop an appetite, though. all of our party was there exactly at the time we had reserved our table yet it was at least 30 minutes until we were seated. even then it was the table right by the front door. i know somebody has to sit there but should it be the four people who have already been waiting 30 minutes at your bar? and, now allow me to pontificate just a bit: i think that one of the main points ofrestaurantweek (aka queens feast) in charlotte is to give those of us who would not - for whatever reason - typically dine at certain restaurants, the opportunity (or, the incentive, if you will) to eat at those places. so, i am more than just a bit disappointed when i go and find the $30 per person menu is not even similar to their "regular' menu. i leave their place feeling therestaurantwas chintzy - too cheap to abide by the promotion. that was our experience at blt. the $30 per person menu was sooooo different from the "regular menu" and our choices were so limited (few and restricted) that i can not say with any certainly that i have eaten at blt. certainly, i have not eaten a "regular" meal there. what i had was very good but what i wanted from the ritz/blt was wow!
