so wanted to love this place!
husband and i went out for date night saturday before going to a show. ambience nice and service stellar. really enjoyed the pâté amuse-bouche and gruyère popovers. apps were lovely - beet salad and literally the best pork belly we've ever had. 5 stars at this point.

why 3 stars? things went wrong on the main course. brussels sprouts side was good but barely warm. my salmon was perfectly cooked but bland. served on a grains salad with avocado - savory/sweet but kinda bland. with some acidity, the salad would had made perfect bites along with the fish. and criminal in a steakhouse, hubby ordered his filet mr and it arrived as a medium. not even close. he didn't tell me until halfway through the meal because he hates to return food and with the show we wouldn't have had time anyway.

sticky pudding cake dessert was really good.

since we were splurging, i left kinda deflated - off our list, not planning to return.

porterhouse for two was awesome. sides were a little skimpy. service was good. extensive and expensive wine list. it's a steakhouse.

fave steakhouse. i usually order a filet mignon whenever i go to a steakhouse, but i decided to branch out and give the hangar steak a try. totally worth it. it was 5x more flavorful than the filet mignon, and very very tender. as usual, love the pop overs. i've always had a good experience when i come here.

we had dinner at restaurant. we both went for steaks and they were perfectly grilled. we shared a salad as a side, as the portions are rather large. we enjoyed the atmosphere and the waitress was very friendly.

start with to finish- excellent food. hamachi appetizer was fresh and light. the popovers will melt in your mouth. and i ordered the dover sole which came out slightly cold and they brought out a piping hot one even when i said no! service was excellent and go back for sure!

excellent food!

i was in town for work and decided to dine here with a group of coworkers. needless to say everything was perfect from the service to the meal.

i loved both the two types of bread (cheese and toast with chicken liver spread) that was brought to the table complimentary. the braised short rib melts in your mouth and the lobster is just flat out delicious. luckily we had ordered the last lobster.

i'd definitely dine here again. there's no longer a location in los angeles so if i come across one when out of town, i'll make sure to grab a meal while in the area.

bacon appetizer was great, and the caesar and spinach salads were awesome. sadly, the new york strip and filet were oddly bland. it looked like they would be tender and juicy but just tasted like...not much. the baked potato was under cooked and the asparagus was dry. overall a disappointment.

good steaks and nice ambiance... but the pricing is too high. i'd walked into this place on my first visit to clt, to take away a lamb steak. after going back to my hotel, i felt like a fool to have paid $45 for a $8 portion....even less :(

food ok, be prepared for sticker shock.. very overpriced and misleading menu.

my wife and i stopped in for the valentines special which was advertised at $60.00 per person. there were 2 entree selections, steak and scallops. the menu states the price at $60.00 for the special. well that is if you order the scallops. it's an extra $25.00 per if you ordered the steak. this is buried at the end of the steak description, who would think to look for a price difference when the special is stated on the main page for $60.00 and there are only 2 entrees. any way we ordered 4 glasses of house merlot, that were just ok. the food was ok.

the shocker and head shaker was when we received the bill for $250.00 dollars for 2. $60.00 specials and 4 glasses of wine. $ 300 after the tip.

the wine was $16.00 a glass for house merlot.

the meals were $85.00 a piece instead of the advertised $60.00 because of the buried $25.00 up charge.

we asked the waiter about the difference. he he didn't know what to say, he picked up a menu and sheepishly showed us the hidden up charge. he should have mentioned this in the beginning.

there are much better values. we had such sticker shock it ruined our meal.

it is a chain but one of my favorite steak houses on the road, dry-aged ny strip is perfection. 28-day dry aged ny strip

definitely not worth the price. we ate here this week and were very disappointed. i ordered my steak medium well and received one that was very rare. i couldn't eat more than 3 bites. the side were lacklustre as well, especially for the price. everything we ordered was below average which is really unacceptable for the price. the only redeeming quality was the excellent waitstaff. i would definitely give this place a pass and stick to capital grill and ruth chris.

blt steak in washington, dc recently appointed a new executive chef, jeremy shelton.

i checked out his new spins on the menu and had the best meal i've ever tasted at blt. well done, chef! an authority on wagyu beef, shelton has started expanding the restaurant's wagyu program. i'm obsessed with the japanese a5. the drunken rabbit melts in your mouth. blt has an awesome wine program and they can pair your entire menu for you. i was extremely impressed and i'll be back for seconds very soon!

blt steak is a hotel restaurant masquerading as an upscale steak house. the shrimp cocktail was very good, but we were not impressed with the sides (our brussel sprouts were basically burnt) or the temp of our steak. we will stick with the palm or del defriscos in the future.

blt has three 5-gallon charred, wooden bourbon barrels that turn out specially-aged classic cocktails.  it’s the one program that’s safe from budget cuts. the negroni with organic gin, aperol and sweet vermouth.
