it's ok. pretty price for pub food, atmosphere is great, butserviceis slow. don't expect a romantic evening, as this is a pub, and is loud and has a bunch of tvs with sports on.

i ordered the shepard's pie, which while tasty, was a deconstructed version of the real thing. my husband's fish and chips was pretty good, a good 3 piece serving. the homemade potato chips and dip were good.

unfortunetly the nicest place in orcutt. ate there tonight. took them over an hour to make a pastrami sandwhich on a slow tuesday evening. . theserviceis bad, food is mediocre. the success of this restaurant is based on good decor and nice looking waitresses.

not feeling this place at all. worstservicei have ever experienced. basicly we were ignored by staff. i can't even comment on the food because we couldn't get served not even water. on top of that the majority of the people in the bar were old, it's definately not a place i would recomend to anyone under 30.

a wonderful place with lots of character..not something typically found in santa maria! the foood was delicious andservicewas great. the homemade potato chips they serve are delicious..just wouldn't want to know the calorie content! shepherd's pie was different than any i have had before, but very good.

rooney's irish pub. wonderful menu, serviceand delicious food that is impeccably presented. also enjoyed the beautiful woodwork and leaded glass everywhere. a little noisy...ask to sit in the back room if you want a quieter ambiance. chef anthony endy is definitely passionate about his work!

great "pub?" food. recommended by a friend, and i was amazed! this restaurant has the feel of a nice steak restaurant/sports bar, and theservicewas quick and pleasant. the food was outstanding, but not exactly traditional irish pub style. i had "the lost" sheppard's pie, and it was a pile of mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a slab of tender pot roast served on top. the flavor was excellent. my wife had the ruben sandwich, and raved about it all day. she said it was more like a huge corned beef sandwich from new york than a typical ruben. the "german chocolate cake" left a little to be desired... as it was basically dark chocolate cake with german chocolate icing. great selection of beverages... even imported belhaven scottish ale in bottles and guinness on tap! the prices were comparable to a steak restaurant instead of a pub, but for the quality of the food in a small town on the central coast, it was appropriate. three entree's, two beers, one glass of wine, and one dessert ran about $75 with tip. the pinot grigio wine they suggested for my wife was a bit pricey at $7.25 for a half a glass... but the beers were competitive at $2.75 - $6.00. all in all, a really nice place, and it will be one of my regular stops.
