terrific place to get some really greatfoodand tasty drinks. we started with the ubiquitous chips and salsa, of course. the chips were very warm and had a terrific flavor; it was tough to decide whether to cover them in the fresh salsa or just chow them as is. while waiting for our food, we enjoyed some really terrific drinks. i refreshed myself (after a one mile walk in 100+ arizona heat) with a really unique blend of tequila, cucumber, kumquat and mint. my wife cooled herself off with a modelo especial and lime. for our main course, i had the ahi tacos while my wife had the fish and carne asada tacos. both were very tasty and very close to the type of tacos we had in mexico. the flour tortillas were quite good, just enough labor without overpowering the contents. the ahi was perfectly seared, coated with a good blend of seasoning, and wonderfully raw inside. i was too involved with my tasty tacos to give a's a try, but from what i understand, they were full of tongue-pleasing flavor as well. what really set this experience apart, however, was the customer service we had. we were promptly seated and our order was taken i'm a flash. drinks, chips and salsa were prompt. our food, however, took a while. a long while. i was beginning to wonder if they had to catch my ahi. as we had an appointment immediately after lunch, we asked for our check once ourfoodshowed up. our waiter immediately apologized for the delay, and once we were almost done with our meal, brought us a surprise treat... a big, white bowl with the largest piece of flan i've ever seen. once we dug into it, however, we discovered something else: that it was the best damn flan we've ever had. the caramel (pronounced with three distinct syllables, please) was perfect, and the strawberries and blackberries very fresh. to top it all off was the fresh, homeade whipped cream on top. all in all, a great experience, and we really hope to get back there before we leave.
