not a good experience. my friend and i went in to grab a drink shortly before closing. before entering, we asked if thebarwas still open for a drink and informed the hostess that we didn't plan on eating. when we sat down at the bar, we asked again if it was ok if we grabbed a drink. i include this information because i am a bartender at an upscale restaurant in austin. i understand the staff hates late comers but i also know that thebaris open after the kit he does last call for food. the whole point to the back story is that when we finally say down at thebarto order our drinks the bartenders were incredibly rude, dismissive, and short with us. understanding from their point if view, maybe it's been a long night, it's 10 minutes before closing... i got it. i tried to be as polite and low maintenance as possible. it didn't seem to matter. i didn't catch their names because when i asked 'what did you say your name was?' the blonde with curly hair snapped back, 'i didn't.' and turned away. i have never written a negative review, but i was so appalled at their negative attitudes that i felt inclined to do so. maybe things are different in texas, but if i acted that way towards a guest at mybari could expect to not have a job in the morning.
