came out here for lunch on a saturday after hearing great reviews about their food and especially their meats. we decided to book our table just in case, but it wasn't needed since when we arrived, the place was rather empty. we were informed of the banquet options but decided to get a few dishes that we heard were 'must haves'. we started with the piquillo roasted bell peppers stuffed with crab meat and prawn ($5 each) and were surprised when they came out extremely cold at the centre. a friend said they remember the dish being warm last time they came, not freezing cold at the centre but nonetheless, the flavours were delightful. we then ordered the sucking pig and lamb ($39 each) since we were told that's what you're suppose to try when you come here. unfortunately, both pieces of meat were dry and sections of the meat were too hard to eat because they were so dry but not crispy enough to break- really disappointing. we got the side of greens (spinach and broccolini) as well as the woodfire roasted potatoes and these were unfortunately, the highlight of our meal. the potatoes had a nice crispy exterior and soft fluffy inside, but for a restaurant displaying a huge open fire roast, we were expecting more from their roasted meats.
for what we got, it was definitely expensive and not worth it. even though someone at the table has been here for dinner and claimed they had a much better experience, it's hard to believe since it felt like we just got the leftovers from the friday dinner, which is a shame after hearing so many great things about this place.
