extremely disappointed. people of gresham do not judge the chain by this location. blackbearis an awesome restaurant normally. this location is horrible. need to invest in quality cooks that know what they are doing! quality of food is not up to standard. soggy pancakes, raw cold bacon, undercooked runny eggs. gave them three opportunities since the chain is normally great but they failed each time.

this is a highly decorated, homey diner in mid gresham. tons of parking and a menu made like a vintage newspaper. lots of u of o andbearmemorabilia. usual breakfast fare.

reliable quality diner. we can always rely on the excellent customer service and quality food of the blackbeardiner chain.
never been a big diner person, only one i will go to. pastry and pies are wholesome. you can have breakfast lunch or dinner at any time. the ambience is always good too.

yuck. generally i like blackbeardiner but the chili i purchased at the mt. shasta diner was inedible. i will probably think twice before eating at another.

the blackbearhas gotten better. quit going for a spell,came back and everything was great. the thick bacon, really good.

delightful comfort food. definitely the best place to dine for breakfast, with price in mind of course. the portions are huge and quality is impressive for the price. i am a vegetarian so i can't speak for the meat, but all of the sides are simply mouthwatering. if you and your family are really hungry, and want a traditional american breakfast, i would definitely recommend coming to the blackbeardiner. the service is wonderful as well.

terrible service. we loved the blackbeardiner while road tripping in california, so we were excited to discover one in beaverton. the beaverton franchise left us disappointed. the last straw was the time we arrived, were seated and then sat for over 20 minutes without being greeted by a waiter, brought water or anything. won't be back.

gotta love comfort food. blackbeardiner is a great fun concept but definitely not the kind of concept you would expect to find in walnut creek. over the years i have been to other locations in gilroy, medford, yreka and even shasta but i never expected i'd be eating at one in walnut creek.

you never really know what kind of experience you'll get at blackbearbut if it's a good experience the plates are generous and the atmosphere is fun. i must say it's always been one of those places i like to stop off at during a family trip but not as good of an experience if you make it a regular dining experience in this city.

the menu is full of variety and features some great comfort food but i do have my favorites.......

bigfoot chicken fried steak and eggs
homemade corned beef hash and eggs
hot meatball sandwich
bbq pork ribs
fried chicken
meatloaf
fish and chips
stuffed chicken breasts
pot roast
darn good burgers and garlic fries
butterfinger shake

just hope you get a friendly down to earth waitress and not a snotty tweener who hates the blackbearoutfit and prefers her hot topic black goth duds. it's definitely a place you most try next time your in walnut creek so you can get away from it all for as long as your meal lasts.

exiled from jennie craig. though most diners require seat-belt extensions and the campy gaybeartheme goes on and on (complete withbearpaws painted on the sidewalk leading to the door, grrrr) this place rocks. good diner-ish, home cooking and lots of it. try the tri-tip french dip sandwich. wow. this is a beaverton salt of the earth kind of place. if you find yourself waiting for your porsche to be serviced walk over and try it out.

blackbearwas our favorite place to eat breakfast in shasta, nice now it's closer to home. huge portions!

good for breakfast!. i like blackbearfor breakfast. they have a good menu selection and most of the items i have had have been really good. i like their pancakes, and the omelets are good too.

dinner is okay, but we've had a few things i wouldn't have again. salmon, enough said, i shouldn't have ordered it, but it was on a caesar salad.

most of the time the service is good.

ok at best. this place reminds me of marie callendar's done with abeartheme. expect to see the aarp set in numbers as well.

that said, the food is ok but not great. the burgers are solid, but some of the dinner plates are average at best. service here has been hit-or-miss in the past; there have been times when the wait to get our food has been extreme (45 minutes) during lunch. there are too many other good places in the area to make me want to keep trying. pass.
