          i love greek food.   however, i can accurately say, “i love ___________ food,” with nearly every nationality that loves to slingfoodfilling in the blank.   i also, to your utter shock, love cheap food.             the big greek café is a place where my two favorite things merge as one.   every wednesday, they serve up tasty gyros for only $5.00.   i tell you, this is one of the crown jewels of cheapdom.   the combination of the fried pita, shaved lamb, chopped tomatoes and onion, and cool refreshing tzaziki sauce, along with the large portion, made this quite a satisfying meal at a price i can afford again and again.   seriously, i don’t know how they prepare their pita bread, but it’s unlike any other pita that i have ever had.

delicious food. i am greek and very picky about where i eat and buy greek food. the big greek cafe has delicious authentic greekfoodwhich tastes like the foods your mother or yia yia (grandmother) would make.i love the greek salad and the dressing . they should bottle the dressing and sell it at the groceris stores across the county because its absolutely delicious! but there is one thing they need some improvment on, is the baklava. my advice would be make the baklava look more professtional by cutting the baklava into diamond shapes.

greatfoodalways...... thefoodat big greek cafe is wonderful. everything we have ever tried is delicious from the baked chicken and the roasted greek potatoes to the scrumptious pastitsio. the main dishes and desserts are superb. everyone who comes by silver spring and likes greekfoodneeds to stop in and eat. they will love thefoodand the service. great.

excellent food!. the best greekfoodaround town! try the fries w/feta and spices; gyro; green beans in tomato sauce. delicious!

it is a paper-plate and plasticware place with counter service, though, so, expect informal.

thefoodhere is top-notch. i have eaten at many greek restaurants inthe area and this is by farbthe best. the gyro meat is very flavorful and the tzaziki sauce is awesome. i have also eaten the grilled chicken salad, which was one of the best salads i have ever eaten. the fallafel is flavorful, fluffy, and fresh. it is serves hot and makes an appetizer that you will not forget. the prices are great and one will never leave hungry. this place is a must for anybody who likes greek food.

best greek in the area . . .. had the gyro sandwich and spanakopita for lunch. both were excellent. the gyro was tender and juicy (not dry like most places), the tzaziki sauce does not overpower nor do the onions. you can tell that the spanakopita (spinich pie) is freshly made right down to the phyllo. it melted in your mouth. i haven't had greekfoodthis good since moving from michigan three years ago! since i work in the area, will be visiting for lunch often.
