great night out. food was delicious - as another blogger stated it was not exactly new orleans but close enough without being in thebigeasy. my stuffed catfish with rice was flavorful, moist and delicious and the portion wasbigenough for 2 meals. his bbq platter (of course) was also huge and delicious. even the brick pressed chicken, an item that i am not usually fond of, was excellent. the skin was nicely crispy while the meat was tender and juicy.
the drinks and the bar were hopping. i had some special black cherry lemonade with bourbon. it was strong and not too sweet. service was pleasant and quick. our questions were answered patiently and with knowledge.
this is clearly a popular local spot. people didn't even blink when they were told there is an hour long wait for a table but rather headed to the bar and waited. i will definitely return, perhaps to try the jazz brunch which sounds appetizing and fun.
