not sure how thisplacegot such high ratings. for some stupid reason i thought "big bills ny pizza", like as in buffalo bills, this is going be like a good old buffalo pizza joint! i got a pepperoini pie, it was standard nothing special. the wings have a "sweet spicy" sauce and served with ranch (not buffalo wings). i would have walked out when i saw that but was with someone who did not know any better and wanted to stay. upon request, they did give me blue cheese with the wings and they were also standard wings you get anywhere, nothing special. i will not be back.

this has been my favorite pizza joint for as long as i've lived in colorado. it's greasy, crunchy, cheesy, meaty, calorie-heavy perfection. if you're into artisan pizza, thisplaceisn't for you, but if you want the absolute perfection that is new york inspired pizza, you'll love big bill's.

pizza, bread sticks, wings and ice cream! theplacewas packed. the ice cream was a local brand and their key lime pie flavor was a big hit with us. i wouldn't characterize the pizza as being close to authentic ny pizza, but it's ok in its own way.

best calzone in denver. big bill's makes a combo calzone that is just one of the best things to eat in the whole of denver. it should be it's own food group. i have eaten calzones all over the country and none come close. there is something about the ingredients they use that is just delectable every time.

and the crust - wow. it's always got a slight crunch to the outside and is chewy inside. the taste and texture are second to none.

they are really big, and while i know it's more than should be eaten at one sitting, i can never resist. i always polish it off with a good beer.

theplaceis busy almost every night so call ahead and get take out. if you go in and order, you can watch the whole thing made right at the counter - nothing hidden here! the guys who make the pizzas and calzones are like a whole team of energizer bunnies - they work their as#$s off! and if you want to stay, plan on a wait most nights. the dining room is full of sports memorabilia, including a bunch of stuff that is absolutely unique to bill and his history.

big bill frequently visits and talks to his customers. when he's not in his smart car, that is!

great food, greatplace- a denver treasure!

big bill is the man.. i think this restaurant is more about the owner than the actual food. bill is a really stand-up, great guy, but i would not call this red sauce joint anything out of the ordinary. i'd just as soon go to farro across the street where the food is of a higher culinary order.

there is nothing wrong with this pizzeria; i think it is simply an independentplacethat the locals realized they could love and support. i wish denver diners had this attitude toward more independently owned restaurants. then we could maybe kill the predominance of some of the gnarlier chains (e.g. chili's, olive garden, etc.) in the suburbs.

seriously folks, give the mom and pop places a shot. you might just find another big bill's to support.
