the luciferopizzawas just perfect for our light supper....light, not doughy, slightly crispy but not dry. as we were staying at peppers gallery, bicicletta is conveniently located downstairs. it has a warm welcoming ambience. wait staff were friendly. would like to try a full dinner next visit as the aromas coming from the kitchen were tantamount. a short stroll around bicicletta after supper finished off the day perfectly.

because bicicletta is the restaurant for the peppers gallery hotel in acton it is very helpfully open for three meals a day, seven days a week. it has a good italian menu and a specials board… (the salmon fillet and the marinated sirloin both looked excellent!). if you are a group ordering together, it can be good to share the pan dipizzato start followed by a mix of salad, pasta and pizza.

the dear luncher marauds his way around the country sometimes and he's currently visiting the nation's capital. as the dear luncher has a bit of a lazy streak, opting to dine at places near the accommodation is preferred. bicicletta was one such option and it did not disappoint. popular eatery in amongst several hotels, the dear luncher was treated to a swift dinner that involvedpizzaand red wine. well worth a visit if you are in the vicinity. a truly authentic italian experience.

tucked away at the back of bicicletta is a little hole in the wall that faces the herb gardens. it’s part of the restaurant but serves takeaway sandwiches and what seems to be a coveted quiche that we’ve never been able to get our hands on. we sampled the prosciutto, tomato and mozzarella toastie served on ciabatta. the sandwiches are thoughtfully heated in thepizzaoven, which only takes a couple of minutes but provides the sandwich with a depth of flavour. a little secret within new acton and one we can surely recommend for an inexpensive but mighty tasty take away lunch.

visited here after searching for pizzas in canberra - glad we did. my husband & i shared the aranchini (3 medium sized balls) and wished we'd gotten a serve each! they were amazing. we then shared a margaritapizzathat was delicious - really thin woodfired crust. would go back!

bicicletta in the peppers gallery hotel  some lovely settings to enjoy a range of good italian dishes, well priced and well sized for sharing with friends. situated in the nostalgic old acton hotel it has a restaurant, library bar and courtyard (great for summer) to choose from. the pan dipizzais a good way to start as 8 well sized pieces are included, great for sharing.

great food. went here for dinner after a movie. the service was very attentive although the waitress didn't know what kahlua was! we shared gnocchi andpizzaand both were excellent. with an italian heritage, and a mum who makes fantastic gnocchi - they were one of the best gnocchis i've eaten out. decor and ambience was excellent too. we ate outside - a bit dark but manageable. great place to eat - would definitely visit again.

a right shocker. i rarely take the time to write a review, but this place was so shocking i couldnt wait to log on to do so.
as diamant hotel guests, we were recommedned to this restaurant which we understand is part of/controlled by that hotel. we arrived about 8pm on a sat night and it was about 3/4 full. the service was lacking from the start. brisk, devoid of humour, and at times downright rude. but the real highlight, after waiting about 20 minutes for anyone to come near us to take evena drinks order, we were advised that they had run out ofpizzaand other bread produts. as these ingredients made up about 2/3 of the menu, this somehwta limited our choices. cant say i have ever neen to an italina pizzeria without pizza? is this a phenoma unique to canberra?
by this time, it was too late to consider getting a taxi and finding a place not assocated with the hotel. the serves we had were fairly small and and on the cold side. the wine we ordered was 5 years younger than stated on the wine list. ur enquiry re this was greeted with a shoulder shrug.
just as we were aout to leave, a large table of about 12 people came in, and within 10 minutes, guess what they were served? pizzas!!!
i asked the manager/supervisor how this was possible, and and was told that the table in question had "booked over 6 months ago and we knew they would want pizzas so we held some back".......wow
never go here. tawdry food and appalling service.

worst service in a very long time !!! we had a freepizza/ pasta deal from the diamant hotel but forced us to wait 30 mins and wanted us to wait another 90 mins before giving us a table. we had to forcefully complain to the waiters and to the hotel before we got a table. once we were there the food was good and free tables all over the place

averagepizzafor the price. mediocre service. the staff needed to know more about what they were serving. we didn't have to wait long for our food however this place could learn a lot from docpizzain carlton melbourne if they are going to charge $24 for a pizza. i.e quality of ingredients used. the only aspect of the restaurant that holds up is the fit out.

the entrees were all very nice and thepizzawas lovely and thin and very genuinely italian. the pasta was quite ordinary and not really worth having. as to the service apparently the issue is that they have to cater to room service as well as the restaurent and this is why the mains are often slow. our mains were quite slow to arrive and while they did apologise it seemed to be a problem that they were not prepared to fix. they have clearly read their reviews because the waiters were all very polite and anxious to please. the atmosphere was delightfully rustic with white wood crates everywhere and lots of great 50s black and white photos. it's a fun place to go but i wouldn't go if you are in a great hurry or exceptionally hungry.

the food was pretty tasty, except the arancini balls were a bit crunchy in the middle of the rice. the first waiter we had was sweet, but inexperienced. he just plonked our bottles of wine on the table without so much as an offer of a pour. we had 4 people at our table and we ordered 3 pizzas to share. a different waiter put the pizzas in front of us, while our fourth guest was in the bathroom. this waiter looked to be more experienced, and i think he was in charge. we politely asked him if we could get some extra plates as we were sharing. in a rather cross voice he said, "you need to tell us if you want to share. we can't be expected to know you're sharing if there's only 3 of you and you only order 3 pizzas." we came back with, "but there's four of us! and we did tell the other waiter!" what we didn't say was, what's the big deal anyway? do we really need to play a blame game about whose fault it is that we, the customers, want to sharepizzaand we want extra plates?! so then the waiter turned around and blasted the inexperienced waiter - totally went off at him for not looking after our table. it was really unpleasant to see. so then the waiter in charge came back and slammed the extra plates on the table with a surly look on his face. must have been having a bad day or something, but why take it out on us? it wasn't like we were even sending back a dish!! anyway, we had a really nice night and the waiter's crankiness sort of made it entertaining. but i feel sorry for the inexperienced waiter. how's he ever going to get better if he's just going to get screamed at for trivial things like forgetting plates?

just had nye dinner at bicicletta and it was great. prosciutto came with greatpizzabread and my seafood marinara was probably the best i've ever had. staff were lovely and chased down a high chair for little miss and helped us move tables when we moved outside (lm was restless!).
