really enjoyed our meals; i had the bolegnese which was excellent but the real highlight was the margherita pizza. sara, our server, kindly recommended it and it was fantastic.greatmeal!

what agreatitalian restaurant in the diamont hotel. the food and wine list plus excellent service is great.

used to be much better. i used to go here weekly a few years ago and have overseen a dramatic decline in food, service, menu choices and a concurrent increase in prices. pizzas became more expensive with fewer ingredients, pastas became smaller and oilier again with fewer ingredients, bread disappeared entirely from the menu, staff turnover increased and then opening hours were reduced from all day to just dinner. the final straw was ordering two (overpriced) pizzas, both of which were incorrect when served (meat for a vegetarian). so sad to see such agreatplace wither and die.

we had agreatexperience last night. alex's service was some of the event we've had in years. food was fantastic and sitting outside at night with the possums was memorable. well done.

popped in for lunch with my partner as we were in the area. we had eaten here before when the hotel that it is located in (peppers) had a different name.

the food is good but we did not think anything stood out.

we had a salmon salad, calamari and beef carpaccio.

the salad was well seasoned and not too dry and not too oily - a good balance. the salmon was just below room temperature which allowed the subtle flavours that make smoked salmon a favourite for me.

the batter in the calamari was not crunch. it was soft which added to the calamari being juicy and tender - and the batter was not overly oily. the battered jalapeños weregreat- certainly spicey and giving a nice warm sensation but no hot chilli burn. highly recommend you try this.

the carpaccio was a little dry. some high quality premium extra virgin olive oil to add a little flavour and exture to the dish was the only thing missing for me.

the spaghetti was presented off centre (heaped on one side of the plate) - so it made the size of the serve look even smaller.

the pipies had grit in them and afterwards we still had their taste in our mouths.

the staff cleaned the plates in front of us and on the table (moving all the leftover onto one plate and then stacking them etc) before taking them away.

memories of our 3 previous dinners here and 1 breakfast when staying at the hotel were nothing similar to this experience.

bicicletta in the peppers gallery hotel  some lovely settings to enjoy a range of good italian dishes, well priced and well sized for sharing with friends. situated in the nostalgic old acton hotel it has a restaurant, library bar and courtyard (great for summer) to choose from. the pan di pizza is a good way to start as 8 well sized pieces are included,greatfor sharing.

genuine, friendly, fun and observative service.greatatmosphere and well above average italian food.

highly recommend both the arancini and pork belly. that said, the crackling on the pork belly was the slight let down of the dish, needed a little longer to bring it up to a fantastic crunch.

my partner found the pork sausage in the gnocchi to be a slightly odd mix, but was overall very happy with the dish having picked out the sausage.

great food. went here for dinner after a movie. the service was very attentive although the waitress didn't know what kahlua was! we shared gnocchi and pizza and both were excellent. with an italian heritage, and a mum who makes fantastic gnocchi - they were one of the best gnocchis i've eaten out. decor and ambience was excellent too. we ate outside - a bit dark but manageable.greatplace to eat - would definitely visit again.

perfect from start to finish!. what agreatnight, catching up with old friends. we chose to sit outside and the take was ready in seconds. service and friendly, jovial and prompt. the menu wasgreatand made choosing meals very hard! when the meals came they were very generous servings as compared to fancy restaurants, and the taste! oh wow! we were all so happy to have such a positive experience with terrific food and atmosphere! cudos to you all front of house and those in the kitchen :-) i will most definitely be back!

disappointing. bicicletta had been on my bucket list for some time; when i finally tried it it was downright disappointing. the much-lauded pizzas were very average, the 3-meat bolognaise dry and gritty, and the mushroom gnocchi tasteless. with so manygreatitalian restaurants around canberra, there are far better options.

the entrees were all very nice and the pizza was lovely and thin and very genuinely italian. the pasta was quite ordinary and not really worth having. as to the service apparently the issue is that they have to cater to room service as well as the restaurent and this is why the mains are often slow. our mains were quite slow to arrive and while they did apologise it seemed to be a problem that they were not prepared to fix. they have clearly read their reviews because the waiters were all very polite and anxious to please. the atmosphere was delightfully rustic with white wood crates everywhere and lots ofgreat50s black and white photos. it's a fun place to go but i wouldn't go if you are in agreathurry or exceptionally hungry.

despite other reviews we hadgreatservice and our meals arrived quickly. everyone enjoyed their meals, my speck pizza with provolone and truffle oil was amazing!

just had nye dinner at bicicletta and it was great. prosciutto came withgreatpizza bread and my seafood marinara was probably the best i've ever had. staff were lovely and chased down a high chair for little miss and helped us move tables when we moved outside (lm was restless!).

loved it. we had agreatexperience at bicicletta sitting outside in the courtyard with good food and good wine. we felt we were in italie and not in canberra. loved the ravioli and pizza are hand made and a real foodlover will taste the difference. will recommend to all my friends.

service was ok, noticed staff are constantly delivering room service meals, which could explain complaints in previous reviews. i had sardines for entree,greatflavour, onions could have been cooked a little longer. the main was great: pasta pancakes, stuffed with cheese, on a lamb ragu. overall, pretty good meal, and ok value for money.
