we often hear the term 'modern british food' casually bandied around, but to my mind, i don't really know what this means. at best, i'd say was traditional british dishes, deconstructed, poncified and served in measly portions - i.e. not terribly appealin

right £25 for a lamb biriani - better be good - and ah no. it was average. could have been from the masala zone. others at our table loved their dishes but i think for what you get this is overpriced cuisine. location and service great but littled changed in 5 years. don't trip up on the candles places on the stairs as you exit with you wallet somewhat lighter.

my favourite. atul's benares must be the best of all. a wonderful blend of the east and innovative (euroish) cuisine. and, wonderful relaxed atmosphere, service with no 'grand hotel' intimidation. simply superb!

loved it!!!!! took some friends out there for lunch, n we loved it... interesting mix of dishes, covering a wide repetoir of indian styles n cuisine... n d signature cocktails r d cherry on d icing!!! mumbai martinis all around!!!
