i visited beeftro in dundrum on a tuesday evening after the cinema and presumed there was no need to book on a weekday. i should have paid more attention to the reviews i read because when we arrived we were told it would be a half hour wait and that the only space to wait was outside. it was very cold, but our waitress was very attentive and friendly. we ordered a drink and didn't have to wait that long before we were seated inside for the remainder of the wait. the crowd subsided significantly after 9pm which indicates how good the early bird (which runs til 9 mon-thurs) is. i had the cheese and chorizo bread in mornay sauce to start - very rich and maybe a little heavy as a starter, but it was so tasty! i had to pawn some off to himself so i could still manage a main course afterwards. i had the black angus cheeseburger for mains and it was one of the best burgers i've had in a while. juicy and sweet and branded with the beeftro 'b' - a nice touch. he ordered a sirloin rump steak (and fabulous creamy pepper sauce which i could have drank with a straw it was so good) but from the a la carte menu because the early bird steak is very small (7oz). thefoodwas delicious, the staff were lovely and the whole thing (2 starters, 2 mains and 1 glass of wine) came to €50, even with him not on the early bird. not a bad night out at all!

the best part of my job is that i go out to eatfoodin places i haven’t been to before. the latest visit was to beeftro restaurant. that means to keep trying new things and then show you all the food!. the place was fairly warm on this hot day, and the service was amazing – kind, friendly and humorous at times with us and that made the meal even better.

beefro isn't anything to rave about in my opinion. i do like thefoodthere but i don't find there's much flavour to thefoodapart from the roasted cheese and chorizo bread skillet and the bacon cheeseburger. the salads are a bit bland but the steak is nice and they have it on the lunch menu for €9.95. it comes with fries and salad but i'd recommend ordering a side of their garlic and tarragon mushrooms with that too (for the extra flavour).

i've also had the 1/2 bbq spiced chicken with apple, fennel, raisin slaw and sweet potato fries but it wasn't really my thing and i found the chicken a bit dry. basically, if you go to beeftro make sure that you have the beef!

beeftro is one of dublin’s best steakhouses.

thefoodis fantastic and the service even better. you can't beat this place -- and this is coming from a brazilian and meat lover. the restaurant in dundrum is small with an intimate setting and the staff is very friendly. combine that with excellent meat cuts and you will definitely be going back! plus their bbq chicken is outstanding.

ps: the vanilla creme brulle is a keeper.

we went here on our first night out since having a baby so were really looking forward to it. from the moment we stepped through the door we had a wonderful time. the staff were exceptional and professional. thefoodwas sublime, i had the chorizo and cheese bread, hamburger and salted caramel ice cream. it was delicious! the staff decorated my dessert plate with congratulations which was a really special touch. the chorizo and cheese bread is on my death row dinner list! we are looking forward to going back and having the steaks this time!
