this was a pedicab away from school, so if i was hankering for a slice of cake or a box of brownies this is one of my happy places in manila back in the mid 2000s. becky'skitchenstill sits in a corner property with its well maintained ancestral home as its store. very beautiful, order taking is systematic. you get a number by the door. look around and be ready to give your order once your number is called. my sister in law bought the swiss chocolate cake for my nephew's birthday. we turned it into the base of the avengers characters. the caramel candy center was sturdy enough to hold all the action figures in place. at less than 600pesos this is a great deal. chiffon chocolate cake, merengue frosting - the cake was not too sweet, but expect the caramel center to give that extra dose of sugar. one of manila's great bakeries of yesteryears. recommended.

becky'skitchenhas one of the best cakes in town. very affordable and the taste is really good! i love their swiss chocolate cake and cheese roll. they also have the best butterscotch according to my tastebuds. excuse my picture of their famous swiss chocolate cake we just had to dig in while traveling.

becky'skitchenalways evokes happy nostalgic memories. delicious, mouth-watering baked goodies that are not cloyingly sweet.   love love love their walnut fudge bars, chocolate crinkles and prune walnut cake.  they're even selling carmen's best ice cream now.   another favorite of mine.

friendly staff.   parking might be a little challenging but the yummy goodies are worth it.

visiting becky'skitchenafter a very long time brought back childhood memories. i suddenly remembered that aside from the prune walnut cake, my other favorite is the swiss chocolate cake. have tried their chocolate cupcake but found it mediocre. i liked the brazo de mercedes cupcake. we bought a box of walnut fudge bars and took it back to the office to share with the team; i have never tasted a softer batch than that one. would definitely return!

their pastries are best paired with coffee or tea, and are meant to be savored.

i visited becky'skitchenat around 3 pm and it was packed! there were lots of customers which is why i had to wait for at least half an hour to get my order tended to. i bought a box of brownies and lemon squares and their swiss chocolate cake. the brownies were so-so and the chocolate cake was too sweet for my liking but the lemon squares were heavenly! it's a must try.

i went here last night kahit maulan to buy a cake for my sister's birthday. so diretso tayo sa review. i gave them 2.5 kasi nabwisit ako sa cake na nabili namin. we bought the swiss chocolate cake. i asked the lady whose taking orders whats their best seller, she told me yun nga swiss chocolate cake. tapos nung tinignan ko ung cake mejo parang naoff ako kasi plain white icing lng sya nothing special with how it looks. then i asked my husbands opinion, sabi nya e kung yun ang best seller nila edi cge try natin. by the way, di rin pala sila nglalagay ng messages sa cakes. so minus points na yun. iadd mo pa na wala silang parking for customers and they also dont offer even just a glass of water para sa mga customers na umorder ng slice ng cake na dine in. so eto na binigay ko na sa ate ko ung cake di na namin pinicturan kasi di naman mgnda. my god icing palang natikman sobrang tamis na as in purong asukal ung lasa. yung loob ng cake merong caramel candy like na something ang tamis tamis din. in short di masarap yung cake. ang nakakainis parang sinabi lng ni ate na best seller yun para siguro mabili na. becky'skitchenmanagement pinapatikim nyo ba ng mga cake nyo ung staff nyo para makapagbgay sila ng maayos na recommendation sa customers? dinayo pa namin tapos disappointing naman yung lasa ng cake. so guys dont ever trust their recommendations might as well try the chocolate mousse so far yun lang ang nakain ko na masarap sa knila.

this cakeshop is our favorite place to buy for cakes. reason is that this place is very near to our home. becky'skitchenis very popular for their best tasting cakes for lesser price. blueberry cheesecakes costs 690 pesos and the swiss chocolate cake is 530 pesos. their blueberry cheesecake is so sweet and creamy, the cheesecake is creambased so it's like a soft icing. the taste is good and very satisfying. for the swiss chocolate cake, the chocolate cake is not that rich and the caramel candies makes the cake sweet.

i've passed this place maybe 3-4 times (thanks, waze!) before i finally got the chance to stop by 😆

first off, the exterior of this corner patisserie looks so charming...and once you step inside, you'll be further impressed by the vigan tiles and capiz window accents. oh, and the cakes and pastries are something to behold as well!

i just noticed that there's a lot of unused floor space that could hold a few tables and chairs so they could become a cafe - there's potential there - or if they were at one point in time, they need to bring it back because what could be better than enjoying pastries with coffee in such a lovely setting?

so today i tried their prune walnut cake - very potent flavors from the prunes, like a mildly flavored fruitcake yet with a much cakier texture. i found this one very yummy.

their caramel cake was delicate and not overwhelmingly sweet at all. it's a light chiffon cake with a subtle caramel frosting.

one of their more popular offerings, their brownies, are super moist, very chocolatey, and also have the right amount of sweetness.

none of them had that "umay factor", in my opinion.

becky'skitchenis the closest to home-baked you could get. it seems they make their stuff with a lot of thought and love.

truly the best fudge bars i've ever had. their brownies are perfectly soft, fudge(y), and moist without feeling like they are falling apart.

becky's kicthen had your basic, typical bakery offerings such as pan de sal, cinnamon roll, bread loaf, raisin bread, etc., but they also offer some interesting flavors including greek cookies, tofifay, butter rhum cake, swiss chocolate cake and lemon squares. all are delicious but i highly recommend the swiss chocolate cake. this thing is insanely good, from the chiffon, to the honeycomb filling, all the way down to the incredible buttercream frosting. i kinda hate myself for having two slices (but i'll get over it).

if you haven't tried any of becky'skitchengoodies yet, you're definitely missing out. can't vouch for pricing and service, but the pastries were great and worth coming back for!

i love it when i unintentionally discover good food. few years back, probably one yuletide season, my mom came home with baked goods, a gift from an officemate. it came in a box of white and red with a print of typical classic-looking baker mom/grandma and a "becky's kitchen" on it. 😋 it looked so simple but little did i know that this box of divine brownies would forever be etched on my heart. lol! last valentine's day, one of our clients gave us 2 boxes of walnut fudge brownies as a treat. i almost cried out of joy. and i also almost finished an entire box. 😂😋 their brownies are just perfectly how i want brownies to be - extremely moist, sticky, fudgy, walnutty 😁 haha. all this lengthy review for a brownie. but that's love, so pardon my passion for such extraordinary ordinary brownies. it's not something i come across everyday like a mcdonald's when i'm craving for mcflurry so yesterday when i had a chance to take a car to work, i made my way to becky'skitchenfrom makati, turning to streets i wasn't sure where they were leading to but i eventually stumbled upon it and so i bought a whole box of walnut fudge! their shop gives you vintage vibes especially once you're inside and i don't think they have area for dining in. will definitely try other pastries but maybe after i get over my walnut fudge addiction. 😁😁😁

highly underrated. becky'skitchenmakes one of the best chocolate-toffee cakes i've ever tasted in manila. reasonably priced at below p500. the chocolate and the frosting are not that sweet perfect for people who want dessert but can't handle all the sugar but the toffee inside they should watch out for as it is extremely sweet but it's my favorite and i always end up eating most of the toffee inside the cake. :p

p.s. dear zomato,

why are all my recent photos uploaded with the wrong orientation? an error with the latest ios upgrade?

their old school facade made its mark on me the first time i passed by zobel roxas ave.

when i realized that becky'skitchenis near my workplace and i was having a rough morning, i decided to stop by and treat myself with a slice of swiss chocolate (which my officemate is raving about days prior my visit).

the moment i stepped inside, the place smells similar to starbucks. made me think if they offer coffee as well, to bad they don't.

i was quite surprise with the prices of their cakes. prices are almost the same with red ribbon's yet they offer special ones.

for php 55, i got a slice of the swiss chocolate and dined inside. i didn't like the thought that for dine in, they serve it in a small paper plate and disposable fork that's easy to break.

the frosting is sweet, but its just the right amount of sweetness for a sweet tooth like me. (hope you get it. hahah). also the toffee in between the chiffon cake is chewy. it's just that i can't enjoy my slice because my fork won't be able to cut the toffee in half.

the place is indeed not made for hangouts rather just place where you can buy delectable cakes and take it out.

i've seen their victoria secret cupcakes (braso de mercedes) and i'm giddy to try it next time.
