becky's is a quaint little bakeshop near st. scho. its humble ambience is reminiscent of a grandmother's house - welcoming and filled with delectable baked goodies.
my family has been frequenting becky's kitchen since i was a kid. their brownies are the best commercial brownies i've ever had. its delicately soft and chewy, mouthwateringly moist and fudgy texture really wins me over. although some people have preferences against the nutty toppings, its flavour and texture clearly sets it apart from other brownies. i've also had their just as moist and utterly delicious chocolate cupcakes which i absolutely adore just the same.
my mother and my friends have quickly become fans of their heavenly blueberry cheesecake. its well-balanced topping to cheesecake ratio makes them exclaim in delight. every single layer of the cake is just perfectly flavoured and textured - the cheesecake layer smooth, the graham bottom crumbly, and the topping juicy. no flavour or portion too overpowering. everything is just a perfect balance of each other. this cake with its harmonious blend of flavours is definitely - as my good friend would describe it - "mouthgasmic".
i've had their caramel cake once for a friend's birthday. it was also utterly delicious and well-made.
the blueberry cheesecake, the chocolate cupcakes, and the brownies are highly reccomendable and best served chilled. then again, i have not eaten anything i did not enjoy from becky's kitchen so do feel free to try everything out because i know i would! it's nothing too pricey or fancy but it definitely is worth every penny.
