absolutely amazing service. we had our wedding there with 150 guests from all over the usa, ireland and england everyone raves about thefoodand service. lynn the wedding coordinator went above and beyond to make our day amazing our wedding was 3 years ago and people still talk about it! we went for dinner for our anniversary and thefoodand service where phenomenal!

travel no more. have had many good experiences at the castle, but last night was our last trip. drive over 45 mins. to get there every time. we waited almost 10 mins. in the lobby until someone came to seat us. the wait staff looked at us at least 5 times but nobody came. to keep this short i will just say the whole experience was bad. normally good food. not sure what happened but it was not busy. when ourfoodfinally came out mine was still raw (pork) and my wife's dish was...lets just say we didn't bring it home for the dogs to eat. the only thing our waitress said was "i'm sorry" when she saw how raw my meal was. as we arrived we had to tread lightly because the parking lot was a sheet of ice and when we left it was worse. not sure what's happening but we are very sad that we lost one of our favorite places. only writing this as an owner of a few places, i would want to know what's going on.

what a great place!. we visited there on a busy saturday in october with our son, his wife and his in-laws. the service was impeccable, and they could not have gone out of their way more for us. even though there was a wedding and a rehearsal dinner going on at the same time, we felt like we were just as important! ourfoodwas served hot- our waitress was amazing - everything was just perfect - thanks!

greatfoodand awesome atmosphere. my fiance and i have eaten at beardslee several times and everytime it has been a delight! thefoodhas been great and the castle is beautiful. we enjoyed beardslee castle so much we are having our wedding there and we can't wait to be wow'd again.

amazingfoodand service. we went last night for an anniversary dinner and had a wonderful time. thefoodwas to die for and the selections were very hard to choose from. i had the duck which was sooo tender and flavorful and he had lamb. normally at a gourmet restaurant the portions are small, but not here which pleased him. there were 8 lambchops on his plate, cooked perfectly to his expectation. we had wonderful breads with 2 different spreads to try, fresh salad and the wine list had anything you wanted. the atmosphere is magnificent and we ended up sitting at the fireplace for quite awhile after dinner was done. the only negative thing i can add is that we went to the bar downstairs afterwards (in the dungeon) and there was an awful odor that caused us to leave earlier than we planned to. all in all, the night was memorable and we will be back soon, with friends.

one of the most amazing places i've been. we drove five hours and planned an entire mini vacation just so that we could dine at beardslee castle! worth the drive! we will be returning! our new favorite restaurant. the castle is beautiful, warm, and inviting. thefoodis melt in your mouth fantastic! the service was exceptional, and randy, the owner, came out to meet and talk with us! if you are ever in the area, and even if your not....find your way to beardslee castle!! you will not disappointed.

great food, service!. we've been told by friends to try beardslee but it was always a bit out of the way. finally made it last weekend and loved everything. it's a beautiful stone castle, thefoodwas creative, artistic and delicious! our server was just right... attentive when we needed her but not hovering when we were enjoying dinner. it was very busy with an event upstairs but the place had a great buzz without being loud or overcrowded. we loved it and will go back. try it you'll like it! our first reveiw!

disappointed. the place was busy but no excuses spent 365.00 which 52.00 was tip. service very slow sat down a 6pm did not leave until after nine i fell asleep at table.foodcame to the table at different intervals. my steak was cold and my wife pasta was extremely over cooked did not send it back as we did not want to wait any longer. some the appertizer were burnt . portion extremely small. mandatory tip of 18 % i would not have left 5% do not worry will never return huge disappointment.

our wedding day. my husband and i held our wedding @ beardslee castle and it was a wonderful experience.lynn was fabulous and thefoodwas excellent ! we have returned several times for dinner in the "dungeon " . the setting at the beardslee is very romantic and the staff made sure everything went smoothly for our special day. i give this venue 2 thumbs up! a lovely experience .

consistent, great food.. best overall experience. there is no other restaurant in central ny that makes for a better all-around dining experience than beardslee. i don't go out simply to fill my stomach. i want a great experience in a spot that makes me feel special. the castle is amazing and unique, the service is great and thefoodis delicious. i try to get there at least once each season since the grounds are awesome and each season has it's special treat. in warmer weather we spend time walking around the grounds where the gardens are an endless delight. this past weekend we made the trek for a valentines dinner and loved everything all over again.
two appetizers were surprises... scallops in bacon were not the normal boring variety... two huge scallops (golfball size!) wrapped in thick bacon or pancetta came with greens (arugula?) that were lightly sprinkled with a sweet vinegar. the scallops had a smoky citrus barbecue glaze and a side of grilled pineapple that brought it all together. wife had grilled asparagus that came with paper thin prosciuto and sweet buttery sliced leeks. melt in your mouth! delish! salads are always good/fresh but sometimes we eat only sparingly since thats the least (but still good!) exciting part of the meal. breads were warm and fresh, served with olive spread and hummus. dinner was awesome. wife had the grilled duck breast (again) which came nicely medium rare with mouthwatering raspberry horseradish sauce (beardslee, please post recipe on your site!) and a confetti of 'dry' fruits that aren't really dry as they come warmed with butter and scallions. the duck usually comes with rice but this time had a nice quinoa pilaf with veggies in it. i went with the walnut pork which comes as pork loin that's pounded like a cutlet and breaded (or crusted) with crushed walnuts and breadcrumbs. the pork was perfectly seasoned and moist inside with a great nutty crunch outside and came with an apple chutney that had peppers and gold raisins in it. very good! no doggie bags, we finished everythin! shared a dessert since their cheesecake can't be beat and it's so light and creamy. a bottle of pinot noir from la crema was a great match.

i can't recomend a restaurant more... this is my first urbanspoon review but i had to share our love of this great valley spot. thanks beardslee!

unique place, good food. unfortunately we didn't get to see the murder mystery dinner show, which seems like a lot of fun. all in all thefoodis very good. my husband's filet mignon was great, and the eggplant appetizer was yummy. my walnut-encrusted pork loin however wasn't very good, and it wasn't even a pork loin. so the quality of thefoodis a bit uneven. but the atmosphere was nice, quite romantic.

dissapointed. great menu, interesting choices and unconventional combinations. however, the exection left a little to be desired. maybe i caught them on a bad night, but the menu got me really excited...then thefoodwas just ok.

great setting though.
