absolutely amazing service. we had our wedding there with 150 guests from all over the usa, ireland and england everyone raves about the food and service. lynn the wedding coordinator went above and beyond to make our day amazing our wedding was 3 years ago and people still talk about it! we went for dinner for our anniversary and the food and service where phenomenal!

unprofessional, rude.
brides dinner plate was dirty.
keg beer was warm.
bartender didn't know how to make drinks.
staff took dinner plates away from people while eating. ( including my daughter's)
took paid drinks at the end of the night.
there staff was rolling my stuff up in the table cloths i brought and threw it on a table in front of me.
staff ignored questions and guests talking. to them all night.
guests asked for more bread and wait staff rudely answered back with we have no more.
staff commented on my facebook post and told me i was a fat ugly bride the next day for posting a bad review.
lynn lost our dinner options, drink package and linen colors so had to go back when it got closer to the date.
charged us a room fee because corona virus didn't allow for my whole wedding list to be there.
finds every loophole to charge extra.
doesn't give a couple a chance to discuss anything privately.
ac unit upstairs leaked on my grandmother while she was eating.
beautiful place worst place to get married at.
also lie to save their reputation.

travel no more. have had many good experiences at the castle, but last night was our last trip. drive over 45 mins. to get there every time. we waited almost 10 mins. in the lobby until someone came to seat us. the wait staff looked at us at least 5 times but nobody came. to keep this short i will just say the whole experience was bad. normally good food. not sure what happened but it was not busy. when our food finally came out mine was still raw (pork) and my wife's dish was...lets just say we didn't bring it home for the dogs to eat. the only thing our waitress said was "i'm sorry" when she saw how raw my meal was. as we arrived we had to tread lightly because the parking lot was a sheet of ice and when we left it was worse. not sure what's happening but we are very sad that we lost one of our favorite places. only writing this as an owner of a few places, i would want to know what's going on.

cold hearted. from a friend: i just found out that my co-worker, amela seho, was told that she would not be able to get her deposit back that she gave to beardslee castle for a wedding she planned on having there this summer. the reason she is asking for her deposit back is because she just went through an unexpected brain surgery to remove a malignant tumor from her brain. she will be going through radiation and then chemo for the next 12 months. needless to say, she had to postpone the wedding. after explaining all this to the owner, he still would not give her deposit back. please copy and share this post. i hope that anyone who even would consider having their wedding or any event at this place will change their mind. some people are just not business people and it's apparent to me that the people who own and manage beardslee castle are cold, heartless and cruel!!!!

what a great place!. we visited there on a busy saturday in october with our son, his wife and his in-laws. the service was impeccable, and they could not have gone out of their way more for us. even though there was a wedding and a rehearsal dinner going on at the same time, we felt like we were just as important! our food was served hot- our waitress was amazing - everything was just perfect - thanks!

great food and awesome atmosphere. my fiance and i have eaten at beardslee several times and everytime it has been a delight! the food has been great and the castle is beautiful. we enjoyed beardslee castle so much we are having our wedding there and we can't wait to be wow'd again.

amazing food and service. we went last night for an anniversary dinner and had a wonderful time. the food was to die for and the selections were very hard to choose from. i had the duck which was sooo tender and flavorful and he had lamb. normally at a gourmet restaurant the portions are small, but not here which pleased him. there were 8 lambchops on his plate, cooked perfectly to his expectation. we had wonderful breads with 2 different spreads to try, fresh salad and the wine list had anything you wanted. the atmosphere is magnificent and we ended up sitting at the fireplace for quite awhile after dinner was done. the only negative thing i can add is that we went to the bar downstairs afterwards (in the dungeon) and there was an awful odor that caused us to leave earlier than we planned to. all in all, the night was memorable and we will be back soon, with friends.

we liked this place so much on our visit to upstate ny we went again. waitresses & bartenders alison, wendy & claire were awesome. very fun place, terrific food, very well presented, and most accommodating to this gluten free dairy free diner. they even whipped up fresh gf bread for me on very short notice, with weddings back to back in another part of the castle. no, i didn't see any ghosts again...

i called ahead 1 day to let them know i had to be gluten & dairy free. they actually had warm french bread waiting for me. i had the trout, served very fancy. i loved it!!! great place, great full bar too, lots of cool folklore but i didn't see any ghosts, which is what this place is known for locally. somewhat pricey but worth every penny. casual dress no problem. they do weddings - grounds are lovely!

one of the most amazing places i've been. we drove five hours and planned an entire mini vacation just so that we could dine at beardslee castle! worth the drive! we will be returning! our new favorite restaurant. the castle is beautiful, warm, and inviting. the food is melt in your mouth fantastic! the service was exceptional, and randy, the owner, came out to meet and talk with us! if you are ever in the area, and even if your not....find your way to beardslee castle!! you will not disappointed.

wonderful cny gem!. my wife and i decided to spend our wedding anniversary eating at beardslee castle. we arrived early and had a drink in the pub downstairs. the bartended was attentive and they had a very expansive beer/liquor list. our waitress upstairs was just as good as the bartender. she was very knowledgeable of the menu without being overbearing. my wife is a strict vegetarian who can be hard to accommodate but there were plenty of appetizer and entree items for her to choose from. for the first course we choose the aga dashi - lightly fried tofu and eggplant fritters. the fritters were absolutely a must. they were fried slices of eggplant layered with goat cheese, kalamata olives and sundried tomato pesto. there were a couple other savory items in there that i can't recall now but they all came together nicely. for our main courses my wife choose the tofu ravioli with portabella mushrooms, green beans and crispy shallots but the highlight of the dish was the coconut ginger-lime sauce. this sauce was light and sweet without being overwhelming. i choose the rack of lamb that was cooked to perfection over the applewood fired grill. for dessert we shared a banana madness which was a great play on bananas foster. overall my wife and i were very pleased with experience at beardslee. we came for a special occasion but this will be a new restaurant for all occasions as the prices were very reasonable for the food/service. even though you are eating in a 150+ year old building the experience was not old and dreary. the place has a great fresh "feel" to it that can cater to people of all ages.

grilled salmon, bacon, fresh greens, tomato, lime garlic aioli. "the dana"... named for our hostess with the 'most-est'.. dana silano! it's a kicked up grilled salmon blt style with lime garlic aioli and a side of fire blackened green beans... awesome

always fabulous. i've had at least five times to sit down with other eager guests and enjoy the fabulous menu offered at beardslee castle. i enjoyed perfectly-proportioned meals, generous servings of wine, and melt-in-your-mouth homemmade break and spreads. i think the service is tikmely, but not rushing, and i think the waitstaff is friendly and eager to please. i highly recommend this facility.

great food, service!. we've been told by friends to try beardslee but it was always a bit out of the way. finally made it last weekend and loved everything. it's a beautiful stone castle, the food was creative, artistic and delicious! our server was just right... attentive when we needed her but not hovering when we were enjoying dinner. it was very busy with an event upstairs but the place had a great buzz without being loud or overcrowded. we loved it and will go back. try it you'll like it! our first reveiw!

disappointed. the place was busy but no excuses spent 365.00 which 52.00 was tip. service very slow sat down a 6pm did not leave until after nine i fell asleep at table. food came to the table at different intervals. my steak was cold and my wife pasta was extremely over cooked did not send it back as we did not want to wait any longer. some the appertizer were burnt . portion extremely small. mandatory tip of 18 % i would not have left 5% do not worry will never return huge disappointment.

our wedding day. my husband and i held our wedding @ beardslee castle and it was a wonderful experience.lynn was fabulous and the food was excellent ! we have returned several times for dinner in the "dungeon " . the setting at the beardslee is very romantic and the staff made sure everything went smoothly for our special day. i give this venue 2 thumbs up! a lovely experience .
