bay 146 - the savera hotel

savera & bay146 have both been around for eons now and those familiar with the city must have frequented this place too. normally go here on sunday evening when there is a live event like a standup show ormusicgig happening. good place to chill with your bunch of peeps for an evening.

we hosted a friend's birthday brunch here. the event organiser was a very accommodating and resourceful guy. screw me i can't remember his name. a great place definitely. i wish they'd get theirmusicright though.

it's saturday night & one of the best places to hang out is bay 146 at savera hotel. it's spacious, so you don't have to jostle for space, themusicis great and the cocktails are pretty innovative. shrinivas works the bar and has some awesome mixology tricks up his sleeve. goose le fizz was fresh and zesty and this is where they make one of the best red wine sangrias in the city. they even have a shooter thali that comes with premium spirits or the imfl variant. 

for starters, sous-chef anish's suggestion of paneer tikka was simply yum but we flipped for the popcorn prawns. it was the perfect accompaniment to our drinks; the panko crust enclosed prawns were succulent and crunchy. the mysore chilli chicken was not too spicy in spite of the big green chillies scattered over the top.

bay 146 has a range of dessert cocktails, we had the berry cheesecake. it's not too potent but the cheesecake flavours are all there. 

service is snappy and prices are wallet friendly. definitely a good place to chill out with friends.

this place is always buzzing on saturdays and sundays with a decent crowd and some live shows.

ambience: a chilled out ambience with an outdoor seating option for smokers and also a screen for viewing matches in the outdoor area. they've got a nice little stage inside for comedy,musicand other types of shows.

food: i mainly go here for their cocktails which i think are quite good and reasonably priced. their food is also quite good. no complaints. but i wouldn't say it's anything above the usual.

price: with the zomato gold, it's decently priced.

one thing is, sometimes they ask you to pay entry totally out of the blue. and another thing i faced was that they got my bill wrong, twice, which was a little annoying.

i would go back here to chill sometime.

there is always that place that will balance your day. bay 146 is that place, the service the ambience and the food is out of the world. friday nights where you want to enjoy some goodmusicand have a great night, this is the place to be.

very good place our group took the open space were too much of trouble of mosquitos so we got back inside and enjoyed s slow dim mildmusicand had very good conversations and their beef syrian is amazing which is must try over there

i'm here almost every friday night. not just for the livemusicbut also for the experience. the staff here are exceptionally friendly and on point when it comes to serving the customers with alcohol (and food as well). dinesh (on the right) has always been my go-to bartender at bay146 for years. i would definitely recommend his expertise when it comes to cocktails. the one in the picture is called a "berry cheesecake", a lovely dessert cocktail made by dinesh. you need to try it out.

good food and drinks .. service is attentive ...musicon a saturday is bad .... come and see for yourself , there is none grooving to themusicor at the least shaking his/ her head to the beats ..

nice ambience. friendly staff. was expecting a rooftop or a pool side sitting considering the name 'bay'. i felt themusiccould have been better even though it was playing on the laptop. (no dj on weekdays).

been here since it was known as sparks! have always loved the ambiance. had chicken donut and warning chicken wings for the 1st time and it was delicious. themusic(dj) wasn't that great as it used to be may be it was a regular night instead of an event night. it doesn't matter for me as long as the food and beer tastes yummy... you guys rock ...

one of my favorite places in chennai. the ambience is perfect for a huge gathering or even for a candle light dining as they have both indoor and outdoor seating. the food is fantastic and they serve the best cocktail from their bar (not to miss watermelon cocktail). formusiclovers this is the happening destination as they play some goodmusicand various bands performing on every friday nights (follow their fb).

overall awesome place to be to enjoy some good food with great ambience and amazing cocktails!
