great pizza, over priced drinks. title says it all, i love the pizza but the mixed drinks are way overpriced. went there once for what i thought was their happy hour, but there wasn't anything happy about the prices. i stick to the beer, which you can't go wrong w/beer and pizza.

italians on a family trip with kids. party of 9.

great pizza and friendly team!!!

we had a big one, meant for four people, and a small one for two plus a basic salad, 1 beer, 4 cokes and water for about 65$.

we’ll be definitely back!!!

comic con is right around the corner and east village’s basic is ready to party down in style. as press passes, coveted credentials, and movie-quality costumes fill the convention center during the day, basic will be rocking the block with two back-to-back parties in collaboration with celebrated brands munky king and j!nx. revelers prepare yourselves for dual nights of cold drinks, hot pies, and some banging tunes to celebrate another successful year of comic con madness!

chef carballo’s culinary program will feature urbn’s award-winning menu staple – a traditional thin crust, coal-fired pie, reminiscent of the famous pizzerias found in new haven, connecticut. alex will also introduce a handful of new dishes alongside suggested beer pairings, creating a playful twist on pub favorites like wings, house made sausage and more to give neighborhood patrons a variety of approachable options. urbn el cajon’s beverage program will feature 40 beers on draft, highlighting their brewery’s lineup, in addition to an eclectic selection of regional craft brews and local favorites. lastly, ongoing beer dinners in partnership with a wide variety of san diego breweries will be a monthly standard at urbn el cajon.

bad experience here: pizza was greasy but good. that wasn't the problem. when we first asked how much a shot was, we were told $6, so we obliged. we took another pair of shots after the meal. looking at my receipt later on, i realize they swindled us out of an extra $10 on the shots. i called and talked to "brad" the manager and he basically told me there was nothing he would do to fix it; that's bad business in my book. i don't plan on coming here again. buyer beware.

such a good straight forward thin crust pizza joint! turn left for a more bar like atmosphere, or right for a quieter restaurant style. great staff, lovely setting! and best of all, fresh, tasty and economical pizza!

moved here from nyc and finally found a place with great pizza. get there early on the weekends to get a table but plenty of room by the bar if you do end up having to wait.

connecticut represent!. dear gman,
i'm originally from connecticut. usually one doesn't see mention of "connecticut-style" as one would normally expect "new haven-style" (coal oven, light sauce/cheese). but urban does a nice job of pizza and it's a good facsimile of a pizza from modern apizza or numerous others in the new haven area not named sally's or pepe's. good charred crust - which to me should be the star of any pizza - and excellent flavor on ingredients and sauce.

i regularly send my former ct colleagues there when in the area. at least the ones who can still stand loud music, anyway - and it can be loud. salads are great too.

as to your "connecticut, really?" comment, i assure you the nutmeg state offers more exceptional pizza per capita than any of the other 49. in any pizza trade publication there are usually 5-8 ct pizza places included in their top 100 "must eat" lists. for a little state, it's a big pizza influence.

base pies (white and red) range from $9-$16 (small or large). and toppings range from $0.50-$6.00 per topping depending on size of pizza and topping selected. adding toppings to a pie can quickly add up.
